39 X 39 X 73 grow tent

Bought a "fully equipped" grow tent. Since this I've purchased two fans for inside tent and a duct fan 6" blowing cool air into it. The exhaust and carbon filter are inside. It included a 400 HP light. My seedlings are under a 400 MH and will stay till flowering. My problem is I live in SW usa (hot already 90°) and have been told on other forums I need a 600 HP for flowering. It's been so hot I've also installed a window unit set @ 66° to keep temps down.
What do I do?

Look into led. It costs more initially but the energy savings are worth it. And you get more headroom. Can put the light closer to the plants and battling heat is no longer an issue bc they don't run nowhere near as hot. I'm building an led set up right now for a 4×4. Goodluck

Thanks for reply. When I started didn't know about leds & plan to get them for next grow but strapped for cash now. I've got 6 plants, do you think I can grow anything with the 400 HP? Afraid if I go 600Hp I'll have too much heat as im battling it with the 400 MH

You don't need 600w. 400w is the right size for a 2x4 or 3x3. The 400 is enough light, just hot. Put an ac in your grow room and circ the air through the carbon filter.

Thank you thank you! I've figured out how to keep heat down with the 400 but I'm in Texas & don't think I can control heat from a 600

Stoners are like the Macgyver's of society, there are many ways to cool a 600 HPS. Granted it won't be fun, but it can be done. My solution for my heat issues....i went from a 8x4 tent to a 10x10. much easier to control the environment with that much space. You can AC your area, air cool your lights, vent the cooler night air into your room, vent the hot tent air out of your room, etc.

400 Watt is plenty. I ran a supercloset DWC cabinet for five years. Inside was a 400 Watt Hps. I grew land races and hybrids. You can expect to pull about 2 to 3 oz a plant wet weight. and if you have an ac unit you have solved the heat problem. Rock on!
