ok so the inside of my box is 3.5x5.5x6, i have one 600 watt hps over 6 grand daddy purple.... im getting ready to switch to 12/12 within a few days no longer then next weekend ( i transplanted from 3 gallon to 5 gallon smart pots and topped/ fimm 5 days ago ) i just got the 600 watt hps last week at my local shop ( a steal!!! xtrasun ballast, reflector bulb everything for less then 180!!!! ) they have been under it for a week now and just growing like crazy!!! just 5 days ago they were about 10-12" tall and this morning they are 15-18"!! so thats awesome but my concern is that wont be enough light to get full yield ;( so id like to get some more lights just wondering if 3 600 watt covering both sides and the middle or 2 1,000 watt hps one on each side would be better??

2 600 hps and 1 600 mh. That's what I would do.
That would be pretty dope, u would have to constantly move the plants around in a cycle everyday though.

Someone told me a 1000watt costs them about $90 a month where a 600 only costs them $35.. therefore two 600 watts gives you an extra 200 watts for $20 less a month if this is true (ive herd 2 were better than one 1000watt so i asked someone to explain).

So at three 600watt lights it'll cost you $105 a month. Two 1000 watts will cost you $180 a month. So if you can control the heat and can afford it or whatever the case may be, id get FOUR 600 watt lights. Im not sure on comparison of 3 six hundred watt lights to 2 one thousands in lux etc. but 4 absolutely out beats everything lol.. im not sure if this helped but..

the higher the wattage per light, the higher you will have to keep the lights, but the greater area they will each cover.

Smaller lamps will be more versatile, but larger lamps will be easier assuming you have vertical space. I would prefer multiple 600Ws over a 1000W

I think 2 600w will be plenty. You don't have a huge space, your just asking for heat issues cramming that much light in a small space, hell your going to have fun fitting 3 wings in that space if that's what your using.
