3x3+315wLec+4 plants=????

Like the title suggests, what kind of yields could be expected from a setup like that, a 315 lec from sun systems in a 3x3 tent with 4 plants. I'm thinking of purchasing a new setup for my second grow. My first grow was 3 plants in a 2x4 with a Mars hydro and it was a bit of a let down on the yield, around 60 grams. So i learned my lesson and now I'm leaning towards a setup that will produce a bit more.
Anyone with a similar setup that can share their experiences would be appreciated. Im open to ideas, i would like to be able to yield more this around.

a 3x3 for all intensive purposes is the same amount of grow area as your 2x4.

I would upgrade to a better LED light for your 2x4 and work on your growing skills before thinking a 3x3 will do any better for you with the CMH at this point. This is probably not what you want to hear but hey man it's the truth. A magic light doesn't turn a new guy into a stud over one grow anymore than steroids makes the worst player in baseball the best slugger, there has to be a foundation of skills to begin with.

I just setup a CMH in a 3x3 for my flower tent and I am currently working out lighting for my 2x4, and the best I can tell you is this so far:
In terms of heat management, in "my" grow area and environment, the 2x4 runs the hottest with the 8 bulb T5, and the 4 COB Tasty LED in the 2x4 runs within the margin of error of temp compared to the CMH in the 3x3 (within 3 degrees of each other is the COB light is on full blast, not so close if COB is on veg only but that's not a fair comparison either.

There are guidelines to follow advice to ignore, advice to listen to, and too many variables to tell you what your yield will be.

Also wanted to add that Mars will soon be doing a trade in program for their older lights to upgrade to their newer mars pro series get in touch with them about that first...........

I get what you're saying, im by no means a pro grower and ive considered a diy cob build for my current tent. I have the green 144 reflector from mars, its not a bad light and does produce good quality imo, i just feel it lacked penetration power. I was thinking that an upgrade to a strictly flower tent with a cmh fixture would allow me to produce more. The picture is from the results of the mars hydro. I was curious as to an average yield running a 315 watt cmh light, i understand there are tons of variables which i alone control
And can possibly screw up but i would at least want the proper tools for the job and i know that lighting is an incredibly important tool in growing.20160404_225854.jpg

I was not trying to be rash or rude, I am a new grower as well. Just trying to say in this case you are not talking about changing to a much bigger space with a lot more light you know. I have a 2x4 and a 3x3, they really have the same area inside, just one is a rectangle and another a square shape. So why would swapping the shape of your tent increase or decrease your yield if the growing area is about the same give or take you got it?

It's not like you're saying hey I want to upgrade from my space bucket to a 5x5 with a 1000W of light will my yields increase....lol.......

I guess it might sound strange, 8 square feet to 9 is not much gain at all but im fine with that as I'm not really trying to expand a whole lot and grow a ton, my idea was to keep the 2x4 with the led for veg, and the 3x3 with the 315w lec for flower, just something that will pack more punch in intensity as ive mentioned the mars is lacking in that department.

Thank you, thats what i was hoping to hear, ive done my research and weighed the pros and cons with running this setup over hps and diy cobs and i feel that for me this setup would be best. I have a notebook full of potential diy cob setups and notes taken from all the led guys here, but the initial startup cost for a top of the line efficient build is just something im not prepared to commit to just yet.
