If I have a 3x3x5 flowering chamber with a 400w HPS.I am planning to do 9 plants in this container sog style. What size would I need to make a vegatation chamber to hold a mother plant and about 20 clones or seedlings?I really would like to keep the mother plant as short as possible while keeping it healthy for cuttings, any input would be appreciated. Also the strand is Ice if that matters.

Well im vegging 9 plants in the 3x3 and then will flower them, chop down all males, then take the clone and veg them in a separate container. However I have a dresser that measures 2wx1lx4H will this be big enough to veg my mothers and clones?

You dont need much room to keep a mum and clones. You can use flouros for that in any cab or box that will house the lights. I use a 4' shop light fixture and it works wonderful and produces almost zero heat.

9 plants in 3x3 is not really a SOG. Avg for SOG seems to be about 4 per sq ft, or about 36 for your 3x3. There's nothing wrong with 9 plants under a 400w, you will just want to veg them for a few weeks or so. Don't train or top them.

A good size mother would love 2.5' x 2.5', you'll be pruning a lot, so the plant will be bushy with a lot of grow tips. I don't think 2'x1' will be big enough for one mother, but you may be able to fit 2 side by side in 12" pots. Look into T5 flourescents.

did i read that right that you want 9 plants in only one container? you shouldn't do that.
I've read more than a couple journals where people do this very successfully on Ebb and Flow tables. However, I don't think that's what the OP meant, I think they meant flowering chamber = container.

36 plants in a 3x3?Even during flowering? For my veg I will basically need a 3x3?2.5 for the mom like you said and the rest for cuttings.Im gonna be using 4x26w 6500K CFL's but I dont think that will be enough now. However heres a theory in my head, what If when I clone the female and then I veg the clones and just keep cloning the clones and not keep a true mother?Or have I just smoked myself retarded?

That's how a SOG works. You flower 2 weeks or less, they stay small, but there are many. 'Lollypopping' focuses all energy to one main cola and effectively reducing trimming at harvest. Because of the density of the canopy, powerful lights and great ventilation are required.

Nowhere near enough. That will work for rooting the clones. Like I said, check out T-5 flourescents.

If you are veging and lollypopping, you should be able to effectively root these clones, but in the 8+ weeks of flower, they will be gigantic and unusable for your situation.
If you're talking about cycling through clone to clone to clone... in order to have a small clone at the end, there is much risk involved. Some even theorize that there is loss of potency or vigor from clolning successively as such.

IMO, you're probably better off keeping a mother under some T-5s and cloning into your flower room. You can just put some CFLs in there until they root, , then crank on the HPS and continue to veg for 3-5weeks(if you stick to the 9/3x3) before switching to 12/12.

So i should not flower for 8 weeks? Will reduced potency be a factor if I get a new strain once a year?So with a t5 and a 2x3 space I should be fine to root clones and veg them out from there?Right now Im gonna veg them out for a month and flower for 8 weeks at 1 per sq ft is that a good sog?

Genetic Degradation is only a theory I've read about. I don't know if its strain specific if its even true. I don't think its a bad idea to do it that way, it's just not really a classic SOG.
