3x3 tent with 600wat hps mh set up need advice!

I'm an outdoor grower for the past few years now and hate waiting for winter so I'm ordering a 600wat hps and mh light with a cool tube aswell as a 400cfm online fan and filter I was wondering will this cool my light enough in my tent to keep my temps cool or will I need a small fan ?

The oscillating fan will help to even temps throughout the enclosed cab or tent. If your not employing an intake fan, you have chosen passive ventilation. In this case I'd mount the 400cfm extraction fan as close to the hood as possible. You'll need a speed controller to fine tune the ambient temps and plant foliage temps. However every setup and the environment it's in will have a variance from grower to grower.
Is your ballast digital? Dimmable?
MH bulbs are hot but not as hot as HPS. If your dimmable, then run 300 or 400 in veg. This is where I'd find use for the fans speed controller. If your running at 600 with a HPS then I'd ditch the speed controller and just run the fan at full speed. A photo controller will turn the fan off when the lights go out and on when the lights return. Make sure to monitor your ground temp (soil temp) side walls for ambient temp, and finally the plant. Knowledge is power.

This is the setup I'm going to be using I have a fan and I don't really want to have an intake fan just to much noise with those , also will I be able to pull enough cfm through my carbon filter an still cool my tent when it's at its full600?

Well no shiiiit! The apollo kit is a decent one for the price and it IS my very first HID system, i opted for the cool tube too. The only thing i dont like is the noisey fan thats in the ballast. But its not that loud, i think i was just overly paranoidback then. lol
A 400cfm fan will work but not for a large space, your it will work for, guaranteed.

Also should I turn it down to like 300 400 for seedlings and just keep it like 8" away? Unless the fan at full will keep the temps low enough
Honestly, id use floresent lighting for seedlings. I have started them on MH @ 300w but i was 2 feet away and they still seemed a tad slower than floresents. This is for seedlings only! Nothing in my experience has grown plants as quick as HID lighting. As far as the fan keeping the temps in check, youll have to play with the speed controller, just remember to take a reading from the plants canopy and a reading from the air around them. Any plant tissue that reads over 78F is not good if your not completley seal and supplimenting c02. Id shoot for mid 70's, like 73 ambient and 78 plant is ideal. humidity matters too, keep it in the 60% range durring veg and lower it to the 35-40% in flower. I also like to drop temps in bloom phase to mimic the natural change in season and at night. 10-12 degrees F less than daylight temps is all i drop too.

lol for sure change her out. But what about MH? How do you know when to change. My ballast keeps track of burn hours but most do not. My mittens inside the MH just look yellowish, not burnt like the HPS does.
