So I made a mis calculation.

The T5 is 37$ + 22$ for the reflector, so actually 59$

This led works out to still more to match output of the t5: 92$

It would be pretty expensive to go with these even though theyseem cheap.

The guy tried to buy 25w versions but the Chinese reseller was reluctant to sell them because they burn out quickly. So that goes to show that these properly aren't heatsinked adequately and may not last that long even at 20w.

Don't think these are worth buying, but not bad for a supplemental light to add to the rest of my stuff.

Won't buy any more of them. Would rather go cobs or higher quality strip led like the luxeon or Samsung.

why don't you all make some Vero light bars ? with vero10s,13s, or 18s, one can easily make a T5 killer.
and pretty cheap at that.
Yea that's pretty much the verdict. I thought we were close to cheap t5 killers from alibaba but I guess not yet.

not sure if the OP's beat the common phillips at home depot

http://www.homedepot.com/p/Philips-4-ft-T8-17-Watt-Cool-White-Linear-LED-Light-Bulb-456590/206278131

$10US
17W
2100 lumens
123 lumens/W

i guess the disadvantage is tha tthese philips are bi-pin and use the existing ballast (inefficient?)

where OPs are out of the box ready to use

would philips maybe be measuring efficiency post-ballast or cheating that number in some other way?
Interesting I don't know how flouroescent tubes measure wattage (ie do they include the ballast?).

I would hazard a guess and say the Philips are way better constructed though and would last a lot longer than these ones. These feel pretty cheap.

So what are you saying? You wish you woulda just bought a t5 fluorescent like the one I posted?
I'm saying that you might be onto something by putting leds into a flouroescent fixture just for convenience and plus it should
Be less heat.

I'm not sure if it would give you the same light output though.

I bought this single one to test - I'm not sure about it yet. But I think for the 37$ it would seem I'd be a lot better off building a cob light: 37$ could get me one cob that could do roughly 8000 lumens! (Plus driver of curse, but that jump in output for price I don't think these are good enough to get a lot of
Them).

just came from costco. they had a 2-tube led shoplight for $25. 4000K, 38 watts, 3700 lumens (7 cents per lumen)

ended up buying a 10 pack of the Feit brand 5000K "100W replacement" bulbs @ $49 (3.3 cents per lumen but will prob bump up once i buy some lamp sockets)

they are 1500 lumens/14W

1500 lumens each right?

Ahhh yeah... these are gonna crush. the globe pops off easily with no tools and all the LEDs face forward. blindingly bright without the globe, ill rig some of these up in my tent and get some par measurements.

Must be a brand new product, cant find it anywhere on costcos or feit's site. the only close comparison must be an older generation and are 3 times as much

this part number is CEA1500/5K/LED/10, sku 17801 14330

some pics for you guys

also whats better than the brightstik is they actually put some insulating goop on the exposed connectors. brightstiks have exposed connectors with presumably high dc voltage

Bonjour
Nice price...50$ for 140w of 108lm/w led!
Do you believe one could light a sq/ft?
Let us know how it grow!
Do you know the brand of diodes?
Is it epistar...if epistar diodes are in the 110/120lm/w range I should consider try some 5000ºk...if it is 10/20ct diode it could be a cheap vegg light!?! (With cheap driver too) but it have to be cheaper than yours but 4.90$ will be hard to beat for 14w (21 diodes a pcb and a driver!)

Not as good as bobby g's find, but this looks like a little bit better build quality than what I originally posted and almost the same efficiency.
Nice bulbs bobby :weed:
