4 area 51 xgs-190s or 1 apache tech at600 light?

will be in a 4.5 x 4.5 tent really liking the apache because its a single unit and when I upgrade to 4 x 8 will only need 1 more apache but it seems that maybe the 4 190s would have more coverage what do you guys think would be better yield wise in 4.5 x 4.5 with 4 area 51s or 1 apache or 8 area 51s or 2 apaches in 4 x 8? price is pretty much the same and so Is warranty

Nope just gonna run a commercial strain been running Barney's critical kush bout to try sensi skunk#1 and Barney's pineapple chunk and see which one I like better and run it for a cycle or 2 but really wanting to try sensi northern lights

If you're ever going to run multiple strains then break it up with a51s. If not, get the apache. It is all pretty much the same price

Dont forget about the Onyx Grow. 3000K XML2. Pulls 250W for $450

I like the A51 because you can spread it out but not a fan of 3700K XTEs. I like the Apache for its reds, but unknown efficiency of the Nichia and lack of flexibility in a large panel.

When it comes to LED's, multiple panels will always give you better coverage, so I would go with Area 51.
Also, in a 4x8 tent, you can get away with only 6 panels, and still have adequate coverage (although 8 would be ideal).
I run a 4x8 tent with 6 LED lights and have great results.

Also, I apologize if we hijacked your last thread and got off topic.

Those are what the 2 setups it should come down to. Good choices.

For your first setup the a51 will allow you to push their coverage and cover more possibly because they can move independent. Their coverage is advertised as 3x3, but to compare to a 1000hps, I would say no more that 2.5'x2.5'. Same with at200, which there are 4 of in a at600(as I'm sure you know by this point). The at600 will cover the 4.5x4.5, but maybe not as great as the smaller units spread more.
Also if your going to do 4 a51's, I would do the new SGS's. I know it's a new light(sort of), but I would guess that it will perform possibly the best of any a51 to date.

Once/if you upgrade to the 4x8, the at600's would be epic, and my choice. 2 of them over a 4x8 is the perfect situation. Perfect coverage plus some crossover going on. Having one unit is a big convenience over multiples, and the AT is designed to match the 1000hps in that space, so your not loosing coverage like with some other higher wattage led units.

If you have the 4x8 and you like the apache's then you should.

Otherwise maybe get 4 a51 to start and then 1 big AT when you upscale. Best of both worlds. Eventually AT center and then 2 a51 flanking each side.

something else to consider would be the weight comparison of a single AT660 over multiple A51's spread out over the tent. I believe the 660 weighs in at like 50 lbs. Perhaps GG can clarify as to the weight? Also if you have multiple units should one go down you can easily and for less $$ drop another smaller light in while you have the defective one fixed. If you have a larger light go down it's not like the average person is going to fix it so you'll have to send it back to the factory and find a way to cover the rest of the cycle while you get it fixed.

Whatsup Hy! I'm finally back in SoCal and man is it good to be home! I could be wrong on that 660 weight. AT's website is a little light on specs so it'll be up to GG to chime in.

it weighs 65 lbs from what apache told me im most likely gonna go with the at600 as I already have the 4 x 8 agromax tent just don't have the 4000$ for both lights gonna get a 55x55x79 agro and run the at600 in it till I get the other one. Do you guys know the wattage pull from the at600 is it 660 watts ? Also what is the penetration like with these at600s I normally lst my plants once or just let them do there thing mainly run indica dom hybrids like critical kush just wondering can I still run things how I normally do or will I need to run a scrog or sea of green?

Mine pulls 685w on 240v.

And mine weighs 62lbs. AT200's are 15...X4=60ish. I would imagine that a51 are close to the same weight.

What ever you would do with a 1000hps(plant size, penetration, coverage, intensity)...the at600 will do

The 660 is going to draw 685 watts regardless if it's on a 120 or 240 volt circuit the only meaningful difference would be I can add more of them on a single 240 volt circuit. If the supply voltage is 240v it will draw 2.8 amps letting you run 6 lights @ 685 watts. If your supply voltage is 120 v that same 685 watts is going to draw 5.7 amps letting you run only 3 lights.

What ever you would do with a 1000hps(plant size, penetration, coverage, intensity)...the at600 will do

Which leads me back to a question I had asked on another thread. In the interest of saving wattage and keeping yields and quality up has the case been made by AT or A51 where the energy savings to yield have these larger >10K sq ft licensed commercial growers dropping HID for SSL systems?
