Nice set up bro.
Nice set up bro.
Thanx man.Nice set up bro.
76 lights on & 66 lights off. That's a pretty extreme water pump for that, but that's a cool setup.
Ty for mentioning your res temps. I don't have a chiller either and use frozen water bottles in the res. I've been thinking of going inline with my pump to reduce temps but wasn't sure what a difference it would make. What are your tent or room ambient air temperatures? I have a spare pump that'll work inline and a bulkhead so i may do it next res change.
A chiller is a piece of mind 4 meYeah man that was for the OP again haha you have a chiller so you're in good shape. I can't get one right now and am contemplating using my inline pump instead of my submersible. I know what my res temps would be with the submersible, and they're higher than 78. So if that's the OP's res temp and he's running inline, with a big ole mamma jamma at that, I really want to know his ambient air temps. Mine are in the mid to upper-mid 70's. Of course I'm assuming he made his res temp readings after running the system, lights on, for at least a couple of days and not just a few hours.
I gotta have a CASH crop not a CRAP crop I've been there & no mas.A chiller is a piece of mind 4 me
Right on man, good luck.No doubt. I hope to have one soon but in the mean time, the water bottles work and multiple layers of insulation keep relatively easy to keep up with. I think I'll run the pump inline to test anyway. I found an aquarium guy on YouTube run a test and the difference was significant.
Look for some diy chillers and other methods to keep the temps in the mid 60's if you have time. It's really important. Temps above 70, and it's a bacteria battle, good vs bad, and bad almost always wins. I'm not saying it's possible, but I personally have not read many/any successful rdwc grows with water temps above 70. That's just from hours and hours and hours of reading forums and personal experience. I've never run hydroguard above mid 60's, so I cannot speak for it's performance at higher temps. I am very interested though, so keep us up to date. There is a lot of good help here once you learn to sift through. Good Luck!Yea bu
Chillers are hella expensive. The last grown my water temp stayed at 78 and i just used hydro guard. Never got root rot that I could tell.
Well i wanted the pump to spray water with enough force ti keep the water in motion on its own. My teno us nir 75 - 85 w/ 65% humidity. From all my research if u use beni bac and keep water temp below 85 ur good and the bac will thrive. I jusr harvested a 12 o plant and my res stayed at 81 w/ beautiful angel hair roots.76 lights on & 66 lights off.
ThAts exaxtly it bro thats why i love this fourm. I figure that the warm temps promot bac griwth. Any good link fir diy chillers?T

I found one on craigslist for $80. 1/10 hp keeps my 28g, 7 site (including control bucket) in mid 60's no problem. Keep an eye out for them on there. Also, I don't have any specific links this second, but most people diy chillers from dehumidifiers, so just search for 'diy water chiller cannabis'. You can use frozen 2 liter bottles and other methods as well, but eventually, a controllable water temp will be needed for multiple successful grows in rdwc.Any good link fir diy chillers?
Yea frozen bottles is my method atm. Thank for the info i will check it out. And post results. On the other hand beni bac thrives between 75 and 85 degrees, and my reasearch says that beni bac is all u need. @ those temps you will definitely get root rot, been there done that & I was even running Dutch Zone.Yea frozen bottles is my method atm. Thank for the info i will check it out. And post results. I was just reading this thread about people who run dwc with no chiller. Some claim to have success using a combination of sterile or beneficials. One of the main reasons to use a chiller in rdwc is because lower water temps hold more dissolved oxygen which is essential for nutrient and oxygen uptake in the root zone.Yea frozen bottles is my method atm. Dissolved oxygen is critical in RDWC & cool temps around 66 degress is MONEY.No

Thanks for the info bro I will see abt investing in a chiller and I am looking into maybe adding a second 700 gph pump with air diffusers alongside my 700 gph air pump running the 4 6" air stones and see what happens.Dissolved oxygen is critical in RDWC & cool temps around 66 degress is MONEY.
