Think I will need fans? driver remote mounted outside tent
The chips make far more heat than the driver will. Trying to eliminate fans is in my estimation a game of diminishing returns; the chips run more efficiently and last longer the cooler you operate them, so it seems like a no brainer to actively cool them; longer life and slightly more light on the plants, what's not to like?

Two small, silent fans would be entirely sufficient.

Working my way there...

So an hlg 300- 2100 would drive said COBs at 36V x 2.1A = 75.6W
300W/75.6W=3.968 COBs @75W apiece.

Now, each of these outputs will have a unique efficiency rating, lower as watts rises.

With my last batch, I chose higher efficiency over higher power. My next design will be closer to the example I just used, slightly lower efficiency but half again as much overall power and output for the same number of chips.
You're getting there, indeed

My .02 on configuration - although your plant will follow fourier mathematics to predict this action coupled with all other variables it would be very difficult. For a Scrog or even canopy a planar arrangement would totally work. Imo if your canopy variance is more than a foot there would be a benifit to being able to position leds at different heights. If your interisted in details of how I approached the design check the link in my sig.

According to my math I will get 56% efficiency @200w, 112 par watts / 6sqft =18 ⅔ × 45 = 840 ppfd of light

Wellllll, maybe;

I looked they the thread and I didn't see where you mentioned which dimming option you got on your driver. If you got the B version with external dimming, if you leave those leads capped the driver gives 8% more than rated output, or 216W/4=54W per chip. Driver efficiency costs another 8W, for a total from the wall of 224W, this verified by my Kill-a-watt.

That's how I went from 811 to 824PPfD over 6 sq ft and so your space will see a bit more.

I just realized I ordered the 1400A driver with no cords for the potentiometer dimmer, is this OK or would you guys return it for a 1400B?

It's your call.
The A version does dim, but only from 100-50% it's controlled by a little screw underneath a rubber seal on the driver itself. It can just be a PITA and also you can't go below half power which can be annoying.

nice build and setup.and fast work.you should get a small fan up above the heatsink just to move air past the lights a lil for some added cooling.just a sugestion, maybe you already had that planned out.

Update after about 4 days of growth in here my chronic plant looking kinda droopy, any ideas on how to fix this? I just added water, and more soil to fill the water gaps. Others are Durban poison, blue dream haze, and dinafem crit 2.0 in that order

Raise your lights a bit and make sure your not over watering. Probably just getting blasted by those leds and isn't used to it. Back them off a bit and I'm sure they will perk right up as long as your not overwatering

This plant sprouted and vegged under 150w hps and then flowered for 20 days under 300w hps and that's when I moved it under the cxb3590s so you might be right.

nice fixture and clean build. I thnk your OG is not used to the light. perhaps a dimmer @75% might help acclamation to the new digs. peace
