4" or 6" fan/filter for 2x4' tent

I thought I had ordered a filter/fan kit a while back, but alas I must have forgotten to hit the submit button.

I've got a 400w with 6" cooltube on the way for a 2x4x5' tent, and I'm wondering if the 6" fan combo will fit ok, or if I should go with a 4" and use reducers on the tube.

Does anyone have any thoughts and/or pics on the setup(s) I'm considering?

Either would work but you should go with the 6" in case you want to upgrade to a higher wattage light/ballast later down the road.

I have a 4" on a 2x2 tent with 160w LED and 150w PLL and it is just about right. I would go with the 6" since you have a bigger tent and hotter lights.

FWIW, this is the kit I'm going to order (the 6" setup with variable speed controller).

http://www.ebay.ca/itm/4-6-8-in-Inline-Duct-Fan-Carbon-Filter-Foil-Ducting-Combo-Speed-Controller-/280934958500?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_2&var=&hash=item41690745a4

Look reasonable? (Free shipping so it will come in under $250 CDN tax included).

saved about 40$ :P go buy some good nutes for them girls!! :bigjoint:
Indeed! Still too early to start feeding yet (my plants range from April 1st to April 16th), but I'm going to do a hydro store run this aft and pick up my nutes, and hit Home Depot to buy clamps, 6" ducting, bungee cords, metal ducting tape, some 3 gal pots and more soil.

It's getting very close to transplant time. Yay!

Doesn't look too bad, I can get the a similar fan and filter for $170 USD, then you'd add the speed controller ($15) ducting ($15), clamps ($5) for roughly $205 USD. Not far off, and I could be wrong about the prices on ducting and clamps.

EDIT: sorry, did not see you went for another combo w/out controller and ducting. Just as well, at least you know what you are getting, duct wise, with HD.

that price is high for what you got next time do some looking around I got a 6" active air fan and phresh filter for less than that and it came with a speed controller
Thanks grorite, I have done quite a bit of looking, but with controller and all, almost everywhere averages to about $200, most without free shipping. This one was $199, controller included.

If I was to search for cheaper pricing any further, it would actually start costing me money as I'm already over a time-spent x dollar-figure savings, so even if I could save another $50, another hour spent wouldn't justify the savings.

Thanks for your input though!
