4 sided horizontal reflectors too hot. 4x4 too small?

Just take the ends off and use it open wing style! That's what I use and I will PROMISE you, they work fine!

It sounds like your looking at a tent set-up? If so, I think I would pull cool air in from bottom and vent fan through charcoal at the top of the tent. Set-up the whole thing with no plants and run through a couple of 18/6 or 24 cycles and watch the temps. Then you'll know what else you might need to do to keep the little ladies happy! Just for starters. I'm no expert. So, I am sure I may get dog-piled here but that's where I'd start first.

Thanks its a closet grow and the closet gets like 90 degrees in there , going 12/12 right now probably gonna hermie them with the heat stress.

Wanted to use the inline fan and ducting to suck out the hot air from the light , was thinking of doing it how I said attaching the ducting to the end flap... But you say removing the whole flap is better? I probably will hang the ducting right at the end with some bungee cords see if that cools it down sufficiently.

I been reading in the forums and want to make a 4x4 grow tent. So I was wondering If I would be able to use this type of hood with only 4x4 or would it fry the plant.... I figure It would have to be taller like 6feet tall to keep it at least 12 -16 inches away from it. 20 inches more like it. How tall would it have to be with this hood?

Yea, I know I need a better hood. I did do what I said and removed the end flap with some ducting sucking out the hot air where the flap was removed. It did work pretty well. Don't feel like a sauna in there anymore. The air is being sucked out of my closet into my room now. It's ghetto and not very efficient compared to a cooled hood. But didnt' spend money at least
