4 X 400 Watt HPS Set Up.... Ready to Start... Any Suggestions????

Ok. so, this is my first post. I looked all over the place for suggestions forst so forgive me if I'm repeating.

It's been quite a while since I've done this but ready to give it a go again soon. I have 3 400w HPS and 1 400w HPS/MH conversion. A series of supplemental CFL's and LED's (nothing crazy), a bubble cloner, a ton of cocoa coir, co2 tank and set-up, and about a 15' X 10' space to work with. Using Banana, Bubble Gum, and Train Wreck clones.

So basically ready to roll just looking for some up-to-date suggestions on set up. Thanks everyone in advance! And I'll keep everyone posted on results.

i'm a noob, but i suggest checking out scottys method
https://viewer.zoho.com/docs/rZH0i

edit: ahh using cocoa which i should have registered in my brain, but pretty much try to have healthy root system to have healthy bud system
(scottys dont use cocoa and is for limited space which you dont have) so i should just not speak, my bad, but best luck to you growing some dank
but remember keep it simple :P

Keep your plants short with the 400's or lst because you don't have very deep penetration. Four of them arranged in a square should be able to cover aprox. a 4'x6' or 5'x5' footprint well. Bigger than that is pushing it for those lights. I would use a tent in that room for flowering so you get the reflection from the walls and use the rest of the room for vegging, clones and work area. That way you can still work on your veg plants and clones during lights out. You'll need a separate veg area if you plan on keeping mothers or running perpetual.

Good luck with your grow...

That's sounds great thanks for your help! I guess I was thinking I'd be able to cover slightly more area than that. Maybe 4' X 7' or 8'? Any idea what kind of yield I should expect with these strains and set up on the first few go-rounds? Or when I get it dialed in right?

8 per light and I'm a happy man!!! Thanks again! Any opinions on SOG??? Was thinking about going that route just so I can harvest more often, etc. If so, I tried it a while back and had a hard time keeping the canopy the same height even with all the same strains. thoughts? tips?

I have a 24 plant limit in my state so I can't grow sog style. I grow bigger bushed plants in 5 gallon pots with 4 to 6 plants per 1k light. With different strains I just raise the pots on the shorter ones with stacked square boards to keep canopy even.

I have a room about the same size. I have 10 x 400 watts. Same idea though.

I use a 7' diameter circle made of reflectix hanging around the lights. I use a lot of fans also, as well as reflecting the reflectix is stiff enough to guide the air through the plants.

SOG with the indica strains on milkcrates (or buncrates) keeps the tops even with the sativa. I have since given up SOG and use only 12 plants per tray, still use the milkcrates to keep the canopies similar distances from the lights all the same.

I do flood and drain, nothing else in my grow would really translate well to yours. The other information posted sounds good from everything I have experienced.

Welcome back to growing.
