How many autos can you comfortable grow using a 400 watt hps

I've had and currently have 16 under a 400 HPS in a 3x3 tent. Just a matter of opinion, do you want big plants or more of a perpetual harvest/sea of green?

to THeChodesman... 16 autos in a 3x3?? how big are the pots? on average how much dry weight do you get from each??

1 gallon pots. 1/2-1 ounce depending on strain.

you dont get rootbond?? because i was thinking of using 4atuos in 3gal pots in 4x4 space with 600watt hps.. Yout think i should use 1 gal pots? i got G13 PE n Dinafem RoadRunner auto...

Rootbound yes. But it keeps the plants at 12'' - 18''. Cramming those bastards in is my specialty.
