400 W Hps light problem please help asap

I am hoping someone can address my problem here because I am stumped. I have about 3 weeks left of flowering and just noticed that my hps light turns on and runs till it gets going and once its bright goes right out. I quickly unplug it and let it cool for 15 and plug it back in and it runs for the rest of the night. Whats going on? Its fucking up my light schedule i dont know how long it has been doing it but i just caught it three days ago and have watched it every day and its doing the same thing. After about 5 minutes of running turns off. Unplug turn back on keeps going. I really need to fix this problems its going fuck up my plants. Please help.

i say if u have a reciept u return it asap sounds like the ballast or the bulb has a prob but who knows

U need a new bulb

the bulb continually goes out now so that clears up my problem i believe it was a 400 w hps from htgsupply and ive only ran it about 2 months 1 24/7 and 1 12/12 is it normal for them to die that quickly it was the cheap growbright bulb. i just wanna be able to narrow it down as much as i can so that if i buy a new bulb i dont find out it was the ballast...

get a new bulb man... generally the ballasts are not the problem

as a matter of fact, i ordered a 400 hps light kit from htg supply as well and the same thing happened with the light... they sent me a new one for free

how long had you been using it for? and how did you go about getting it replaced?

me too had the same problem with two 400 watters from htgsupply. replaced both and the third one is working fine it was a florolux 400 watt hps/mh.

it was brand new bulb and ballast and fucked up after few days... was kinda pissed but had a spare MH i kept my babies under.

how old is the bulb it may need to be changed they only last like 2-3 plant cycles if thats not it then its the ballest.
