400 Watt Drip Irrigation/Ebb-n-Flow secretive grow in attic....Tune in.....

Whats up to all my fellow growers?

I will be starting a 400watt HPS grow in the next few weeks, actually when my seeds arrive. I ordered 5 Alaskan Ice and 5 Bubba Kush Feminized seeds. I have yet to decide which 5 I will start with.

I have constructed a 4x4 Flowering Area and a 2x2 vegetative area out of the 8 mil Black/White Poly reflective plastic in my attic and covered the floor with wood, it was unfinised in this area at first. I am doing this stealth style as my wife knows I smoke and smokes with me but doesn't want me to grow it anymore in our new house. She has let me prior for 2 closet soil grows but I am going hydroponics now so it can be in the attic and I do not have to go up there everyday.....I can go up there while she is in the shower tho haha the entrance for the attic is in the garage. She hates to go in the attic but just in case she did I installed 3 sheets of plywood over the framing, so that it looks unaccessible to the person who doesn't have a clue anyways.. I also made a 6'x2' door for me to get thru with hinges, so I think I am good.

I am wondering about the temp problems with the rooms beeing in an attic where the temps average 20 - 30F during winter, when I will be attempting my 1st hydro grow.

QUESTION :
Will a 400 wat HPS keep my 4x4 w/ a 5ft ceiling room atleast at 80F? I will have ventilation to lower my temps incase I need them.
Also

Will four 4 foot Flouros keep a 2x2 Veg room at the proper temps?

Yes a 400 watt will keep the flower room warm enough when the light is on.

But temps may drop below 60 when the light is off. So get a space heater that can keep the room warm during the dark period.

Setup a small fan taking air from the flower room and blowing it in the veg room. It will help warm the veg area.

Update,

I had to change my order b/c the bubba kush was on backorder....I am now going with 5 of each of the following : Alaskan Ice, Arjan's Ultra Haze #2, and AMS. I should get these in the next 2 weeks and that is when I will start.

I will post some pics of the construction of my grow areas in the attic this weekend.

How often should the pH be checked in the resevoir?

If I am using a 20gal resevoir with only 10gal of water solution how often does the water need to be exchanged? In the flowering room I will only have 4 plants at a time.

ANY AND ALL information is greatly appreciated. Knowledge from experienced growers is best. Can't wait for these guys to arrive.
