400w Blue Rhino, Clone

I currently have no way to upload pictures from my camera, sorry.
My set up is as follows.

Closet = 5'x8'x5'
400w hps for flower
lumatek ballast, HiLux lamp
4' Fluoro for veg (40w x 2, plant tubes or something.)
S&P Mixvent 100x(100 cfm)
S&P Mixvent 200(538/476 cfm, not hooked up at the moment)
21" Box Fan
250 cfm Fan(hooked up to HPS)
Clonex Cloning Gel
SuperThrive
4 of BMO's products
SPT, Foliar, Flower Power, Grow it Green
Soil is the mix the old man gave me that he uses:
1 Part Potting Soil (Miracle Grow Potting Soil, Feeds 3 months)
1/2 Part Vermiculite
1/2 Part Perlite
1/3 Part Cow Manure
1/3 Part Earthworm Castings (Black Gold)
1/3 Part Bat Guano (Indonesian Bat, 0.5-12-0.2)
1/6 Part Horticulture Charcoal

The MG soil is what he's been using for all the years he's had that strain and it's always worked for him. He even uses their fertilizer. Everything he uses now works the best, he's tried other ways. However I'm going to be using BMO's line up to see how it works. I'd rather use organic fertilizers than MG shit.

I am currently growing 2 Blue Rhino clones. When I got these clones from this old timer they came over with spider mites. Doesn't that suck!? I've gotten rid of the spider mites I believe. I received them on November 15th in plastic yogurt containers(6 oz.) I transplanted them a few weeks ago into (apprx.) 45 oz clay pots. The roots are starting to grow through the drain hole so I am transplanting tonight into 5 gallon buckets. Tonight will be the first time they will have been watered with BMO's products. Up until now I have used only superthrive/water. Also, I haven't had Vermiculite so I've been using more Perlite or Charcoal. My temps run 70-78 F during lights on, and 65-70 lights off. Humidity is anywhere from 16 - 27ish. If I constantly spray the plants it stays about 50.

I've been veg'n these clones and 1 bagseed for 34 days now, plus however long it took for him to root the clones, and my plants are only 7 - 7 1/2 inches tall. There are many many fan leaves, and I've only trimmed some dead ones. In total I have trimmed 6 fan leaves and will trim 2 or 3 more tonight. My bagseed(Cali Orange) Does this sound alright? I think my plants seem short? I was wanting to get them more like 12 to 18" since I'm only flowering 2, possibly 3 plants. So do I just have to veg for 60 days to get them there?

Sorry for the long post. Any help/criticism welcome and appreciated!

I'm not sure how it's a lot of nutes? I mean all added up, it doesn't seem I'm using as much as many others?

Indonesian Bat Guano = 0.5-12-0.2
Grow it Green = 5-2-5
Flower Power = 1-8-7
Foliar Harmony = 2-4-2
Total = 8.5 - 26 - 14.2
The Super Plant Tonic will replace the Superthrive and has no NPK ratio available. It's not a fertilizer, just something good for the plant!

I'm not sure if that's a great ratio or not? Should I use Grow it Green only during veg, and Flower Power only during Flower? That would change the ratios to: Veg = 7.5-18-7.2, and Flower = 3.5-24-9.2

pillarize - thank you for your responses, I appreciate it.
The NPK ratio of the soil is 0.21 - 0.07 - 0.14. Some of that is designated for slow release..to feed up to 3 months. The slow release ratio is 0.15-0.03-0.08.
Also I'm not sure how important the soil PH is. I don't have a soil PH tester. All I know is the water I use is 6.0 - 6.2. However the run off water is 7.6 maybe a little more. Is it important that the actual soil PH is 6.8 or less? Or am I alright?

Anybody else? Maybe Ohsogreen?

I'm trying to find out what my problem is here. Maybe it's my runoff water's PH? I think I could have nute lock out. Please Help! The first two pictures are of some fan leaves near the top of my (almost 8inch) plant. Pictures 3 and 4 are the bagseed(Cali Orange). They are 1 week older than the Blue Rhino clones.
Pictures 5,6,7, and 9 are the same plant. 8 and 10 are the other.

Also, I have only used the BMO - Grow it Green, Foliar Harmony, and Flower Power as a FOLIAR SPRAY, approx. 7 to 10 times. The BMO Super Plant Tonic I have used one time each at full strength on 12-18-08. Other than that nothing but water with SuperThrive ph'd at 6.0

let them veg for a total of 45 days then either clone or cut the lower 1/3 of the plant(all the branches in the first 1/3 of the plant) this will help the plants breath and dont worry about the height!!! they usualy strech out quite a bit in the first 2-3 weeks of flower, ive found they grow more during the first 2 weeks flower than 45 days of veg,,,, good luck

I think the problem may be the MG soil on top of all the fert that you have in the soil, PLUS the BMO products that you are using. MG is very toxic, and not recommended. It seems to be causing a nute lock-out, and I think it may be a combination of the MG Soil and the SPT. The SPT is an amazing product that allows a plant to truly thrive, but when mixed with something as toxic as MG, PLUS all the nutes that are in the soil, it is overwhelming the plant with nutes, causing very toxic/hot soil.

I would say flush the medium with pure water, and then another flush with water and a SMALL amount of SPT. A whole dose is way to much for barely rooted clones.

You can get rid of the SuperThrive all together if you have SPT. They are basically the same thing, only one is ridiculously expensive (ST), and the other is by a company whose entire line is tried and true to work (BMO SPT).

Thanks for the replies. I was going to veg for more like 60 days. They're only about 8 inches. I wanted to get like 4 to 6 clones before I flower them. Does that seem like too much to ask for? I'm not sure-my first grow. I'm using 4' fluoro's. 1 tube is 3,000k, the other 6500k. They stay within a few inches at all times.
It may well be the MG soil. I just figured it'd be alright because that's what the guy I got the clones from has used for years, along with MG fertilizer. I was just sub'n BMO products for his MG ferts.
Now my question is.. I've been doing research..
If my water is ph 6.0 or 6.2, and my run off is 7.6, does that make my soil ph like 7.8?? I need to lower my soil ph fast!!

Wow! That is very high soil ph! No wonder they are yellowing some. To lower your ph get some dolomite lime, and sprinkle some on the top layer of soil, than cover with more soil and water. That will lower it to neutral (7), which is better than what you are working with. Or, get some sawdust (but make sure that it isn't from treated lumber) and mix that with your soil, that will make it go down very fast, so don't add to much.

Zombie, if I were to use FF Ocean Forest soil and BMO products, would that be a complete nutrient line up? BMO Products I would use would be the SPT, Grow it Green, Flower Power, and Foliar Harmony. Would I NEED any other additives/additions to this list?

No you wouldn't need anything else. That's actually my exact line up for my grows, FF Ocean Forest/Perlite soil and BMO line. Most "additives" that you get for your plant are just snake oil, and best to stay away from. One other additive that I would recommend though, which I also use, is Botanicares Clearex (which is also 100% organic). It isn't a "must have" product, it is just used for flushing your soil. It does a fantastic job of flushing all the salts out, so you don't get a toxic lock out. (Because it's a pain to flush your soil with gallons of water every month, even though I never veg for longer than 16 days).

Zombie, I was actually looking at Botanicare's Clearex. How often during a grow do you use it? Just for flushing at the end? Thanks again for taking the time to answer my questions! +rep
Update. Just a few pictures of my plants. I also germinated 5 bagseed. On the 3rd day 4 of them had cracked so I planted them. After ONE night, 2 of them are out of the soil and a 3rd is trying to come up. Not too bad. The 1st pic is the Cali Orange(Day45 veg), then the 2 Blue Rhino Clones(Day38 veg).

I use the clearex about 4 times during a grow. Once before I send them into flower, once in the middle of flowering (about 3-5 weeks in, depending on the strain), once during my final flush, and then one more time about a week or more later, a couple days before my harvest, just to make sure that everything is out. It just helps prevent nutrient lock-out, but I think it's well worth it.

Your plants are looking good! They are kind of small/scrawny for 45 days in veg. I see your problem. Try flushing them like I said, and I would just throw them into flower. I, personally, only veg my plants for about 16 days, but thats because I like to keep them short.

Cool thanks for the info on the Clearex. Yes for 45 days in veg I feel they are very very small. To start off with the clones came over with spider mites. My humidity wouldn't stay above 20%, and my temps were like 80 - 85. I've gotten rid of the spider mites I believe (no sign in 2 or 3 weeks), the humidity is hovering around 40 - 50% for the larger clones and about 75 average for the 4 I just sprouted. My temps now are 73-77F during lights on, 65-75F lights off, and 80F for the new seedlings. Along with all that I didn't add lime to my soil mix so my PH was at least 7.6(my cheap test kit doesn't read above 7.6), and I probably overfertilized. So after this series of problems, I think I've got most of it corrected. They've grown an inch or so in the last few days, hope it gets better! I was wanting to veg them a while longer because I was under the impression I needed to take clones that are around 4" length.

Just a quick update. Pics 1&2 are about 3 days old(bagseed). Pics 3&4 are Blue Rhino that I tied down. I'm trying to get the bottoms to grow up even with the tops..lst whatever, but I don't think I'll keep them tied down for good. Not sure yet. Pics 5&6 are the Blue Rhino top view. I've misted them down pretty good since I'm still veggin under fluoros.
I was also thinking about ordering some seeds here in the next month or something. I'll keep the Blue Rhino still and get rid of all the others. I was thinking about this line up.
Indica:
Blue Rhino
Blueberry
The Church
Sativa:
Strawberry Cough

And I'm not sure which Lemon Skunk fits under. I would really like to get a very good Sativa if anyone has a suggestion. I want it to be a pretty strong strain, with a good taste, and a great high. I don't care how small the yield is as this is for my personal personal stash..not even for my family I doubt hahaha. My height right now is 8ft. so I think I can handle a pure Sativa. Thank you for checkin out my journal.
