400w bulb 9plants?

400 watt HPS bulb (2,100K/50,000 Lumens).[FONT=Verdana, Arial, Arial, Helvetica] 400 watt MH Conversion bulb (4,000K/36,000 Lumens). Heres a few pictures of my setup and my plants. Im using this bulb and im growing 9 plants. Personally im almost already positive i have too many plants growing for such little wattaged. How many plants should i be growing with my bulbs?:peace:

Theres no picture and it depends on the size of your plants. I've seen people grow as many as 15 and as few as 1 quite successfully under a 400 watter. Really what matters is light intensity, Get your plants as close to your light as possible without burning them, any plants that aren't well lit should be removed. To see if the light is to close, put your hand on top of the highest plant or branch, if after a while it feels hot and uncomfortable then its too close.

-edit nvm, how many square feet is the top of that thing?
It looks like it might make a nice little sog set up. Put plants straight from clone to 12/12 in there and you should be good.

Seems Fine so far dude.. since its air cooled you'll be able to bring it little closer, but so far looks sweet, Keep Growing =)

Looks like maybe over watering and a little high one the nutes.

A SOG or Sea Of Green is basically the practice of growing lots of small plants instead of fewer larger plants. Larger plants take longer to veg and thus time and money wise are less productive than smaller plants. An added benefit of SOG is that your plants stay short which allows you to fully take advantage of your light penetration. Especially with 400 watt and below bulbs, the further you move away from the bulb the less intense the light becomes. Usually with tall plants what ends up happening is the top of the plant absorbs all of the light and blocks it from reaching the lower buds. With shorter plants all of the growth is in the target zone and it results in much better bud development.
