400W hps heat issues

Hey guys I've been reading a lot of what this site has to say along with Rosenthal's book. I ended up opting to use soil for my first time because it is a little more forgiving with nute mistakes.

I'm using a 400w hps system and using a soil mixture of about 65% organic potting soil, 15% vermiculite, 15% perlite, and a little lime to check the ph.

I thought my 4x4x8 closet would be enough space to run the 400watter without ventilation. I use two oscilating fans to move the air in the closet. However, my temps were soaring up to 92-93. Obviously, dead plants.

So, I have a few options. Should I opt for a cheap bathroom/computer fan to get rid of a little heat? My room with the closet is very well air-conditioned.

Or, should I wait and grab a cool tube and go in-line fan/duct? That's just going to be like $150...

Any help would be appreciated. Or an explanation of exactly what yall would do with the heat issue. Other than that, seeds, light, soil, I'm all ready to go

cool tube good idea and one of those bathroom vents for like 20 dollars that normally go in ceeling

your gonna need some scent control I would imagine at some point anyhow so you should get the cooltube or any other air cooled fixture and vent through the fixture and then through a carbon filter and directly out of the room. Two birds with one stone, just make sure you get a fan with enough cfm to pull adequate air through the carbon and out of the closet.

get some co2 in there.....u can make it if u dont wanna buy a tank....it really helps ur plants deal with the high heat.....

the main question is what are you using to have all that air get out? is the door open at all at any points or is it always closed?

When I had my temps issues I decided that the issue was that I never had a way to get any of that hot air out of the room.

so if you can find a way to get the air out im more then sure that will cure your problems

Well currently, I've shut off the light and am waiting to get enough cash for the cool tube. But there is no way I can open the door but when I'm in my place. I'm a pretty busy guy and gone a lot so im looking for a permanent solution.

Guess I'm gonna have to chop a small hole in the door to run duct through...maybe hang a flag or something so it's not noticable.

Frustrasted that it'll be at least another week I guess.

In terms of scent control, I already have two nice air filters with ionizers through the apartment. I was thinking with 3 to 4 girls under 1 hps, I may be able to do without the carbon filter. anyone know if rhino is skunky or especially strong smelling?
