400W HPS VS. 8 hr direct Sunlight

I have one room, and one balcony... one 400W HPS, six 28W CFLS...
currently having 6 girls in 2nd week of flowering, about 6 clones one week after rooted, an 6 more clones just cut.. I'm cutting clones every two weeks, hoping to get a good cycle going on.

I have the 400W HPS which of course I can turn it on 12/12 in flowering stage, but I am thinking I might need that 400W for veging the new clones (18/6). So I was thinking to move 6 of my baby girls outside to continue flowering, and use the 400W for vege, 2 CFLS for new clones.

Heres the question, I live in an apartment, if I put my plants out on the blacony, it will get only about 6 hr of direct sunlight ( the afternoons) , I was wondering will this be enough sunlight? will this effect the bud size? 400W vs. afternoon sunlight, or should I use the 400W for flowering, and use siz CFLS for all the others on the balcony....what sould I do?

any suggestions?

I would flower with the HPS and veg with cfls. specialty if you want sea of green . you can only flower out side once a year when the plants gets 12 hours of darkness and plus it will stink out side, do you have a way to get rid of the smell inside??

I Have both a 400 watt HPS light, and another 1,000 watt HPS light. I flower with my 1,000 watt hps light, and for vegging I use a single bulb t-5 light with a 40 watt soft watt cfl light per plant. I am about to sell my 400 watt light for $100 because I never use it. Most I have vegged was 8 plants at once. I do boost up the per plant CFL lighting if I go smaller amounts of plants. Here is a picture of the two clones from my one super plant of eight plants. These are at about 45 days from cutting for clones.. maybe 50 days. CFLS are great for vegging.

If I see this thread tomorrow, I will try and get pictures of them then. THEY ARE HUGE!!!!! Same lighting.

I was wrong, this photo is from 9 days ago. I have since added two more 40 watt cfls.

Also this is not a Hydro grow, even though they are sitting in a hydro system. Those are 3 gallon bags of COCO, and that black disc looking thing in the bottom right corner is my drip manifold.

I was going to just veg these girls all summer long, but now they are growing so fast, I am wondering if I should not flower them just to see these monsters explode.
