i dont understand why people tell me two 200w CFL's wont be enough of light to grow a plant, but
there are hundreds of post that tell me to do this
26w and 42w??? i dnt get it?
Disclaimer: I am not a CFL grower and the following could be very wrong, but I'm pretty sure it's correct haha.
It has nothing to do with being snobs; those people aren't in any way against CFLs. When you buy a '26 watt CFL' (it uses 26 watts of power), it replaces a 100 W incandescent bulb (it goes in the same socket, etc.). That "true power" (26) vs. what it's replacing (100) makes ALL the difference. So when you say '200 W,' I bet you mean a true power of only 42 W. On the other hand, that person you quoted was speaking in terms of the 'true power' (26 and 42 watts).
So those people who are telling you that two 42 watt (200 watt equivalents) bulbs is not enough are right. Sorry my explanation is not great... I hope you get what I'm saying.
