400w MH question/opinions

I'm currently using a 400w MH (4100 kelvin) lamp for my vegging. I was thinking, when I get ready to go to 12/12, could I use a 3000k MH lamp?
HTG has the AgroMax 400w MH 3000k bulb for $60. http://www.htgsupply.com/viewproduct.asp?productID=47292
Seems to me it would be a helluva lot cheaper just swapping the bulbs out than springing for an entire HPS kit. Or should I just stay with the 4100k?
Your opinions would be appreciated.

yeah a lot cheper and your bulbs would last longer. Ialso have a 400 w halide and want a conversion bulb. Heres what ive had my eye on, it cheaper and produces more lumens.

That's a 4100k bulb, which I already have.

How about using 400W 18/6 and then 600W 12/12 for the SAME electric consumption and monthly bill. It works like a Charm.

400W to 600W simply means more area overall area and thus higher yield, then again if it worls for you - great. So your saying the 600w feeds more of the right light spectrums to more of the plant - so you can spread them out. I got it. Great idea man; smoked a couple medicine joints of O.G Kush so I'm moving a tad slow.
