400watt hps

can i use a 400 watt hps for start to finish in a grow tent?

you need to veg under more blue light 6500 in kalvens. Hps are primarly flowering more yellow to reds,

answer is yes you can. but like that guy before me said for optimal growth during vegging you're better with 6500k MH bulb, but for flowering HPS rocks the plants.

good thing for you i read that HPS ballasts can handle the same wattage of MH bulb but the reverse is not true (someone correct me if i'm wrong please)

so it's a simple matter of investing in a MH bulb (SAME WATTAGE AS THE HPS BALLAST****) for the veg cycle.

Or if you're starting from clones and don't care to veg you could go straight into flowering

you can buy a covnverted HM to run in your hps ballast

some of the digital ballasts on the market can run both, the ballast will detect and make the change. lumintek is one the comes to mind.
