45x 400w lights a/c question

You would be sooooo much better off just running 18 DE 1000 watts instead of 45 400s. You'll never get the density you want under those 400s, idc how many u pack in their.

You don't see commercial growers running 400s, at all, not even veg. Don't try to recreate the wheel.

3 400's blow the shit out of a 1000 watt lamp. I really like the idea of this 400 watt grow. Probably going to be able to put lamps 10 inches off canopy. Huge yields waiting to happen here!!!! My choice 45 400's for about 20 pounds of meds on a low yielding strain. A/C, well maybe 2 3 tons. burn some fucking co2 also!!!!!!

I pull 20 off half the watts in half the space on a bad run. And 10 inches off canopy sounds about right.. But what are the chances of getting a canopy with 45 lights that even? And what would the plant number be growing tiny squat plants shaped properly for a 400watt. I think thousand watts are the way to go in a big grow so you can grow trees and keep the numbers down . bigger yield , smaller space , lower start up cost. I hope this dude posts pics though it would be nice to see a 45 light setup

I am a big fan of the 3 600s in place of the two 1000s though . I know a few people trying to get there . But now that DE fixtures are out and about... It's a tough call on what is "better". Anyone getting a gram per watt is getting my respect, even under leds.

I meant 23 or 24 pounds sorry. On the 45 400's. Actually maybe even 30 giving the right strain. I don't even really know what gram per watt means or has anything to do with anything. Is this even considered a big grow? like 200 2 gallon pots i guess maybe 400. I think the op has an unlimited plant count script, due to a pretty serious illness i think i read somewhere.

Bro their growing GG#4 and blue dream on 9 week veg times. Who wouldn't yield the fuck out of that?

only a couple of us still mess with bluedream. I am trying to get my investment back, that's why I grow it lol. But yeah the gg#4 is a big one. Most everyone still on that OG kick . I am over it , I doubt I'll have more than 2 lights of og going again unless I can't get rid of what I enjoy growing. Main reason isn't yield, it's plant count. I have a hell of a time getting 4-6 to take up a whole light with og. My bluedream and dragon take half the time to veg .

Lol absolutely everybody is advising you not to use 400's because it's so inefficient and lower yielding than even moving to 600s... I think you need to visit igrowpopcornexpensively.com

thanks for all the replies ill use 45 trays and 35 lights, now how should i place my lights that is the next question? and i have just bought a £6000 60kw air con machine from ebay to help with the cooling.

I would hve a total of 9 tons of air conditioning for that room. Don't skimp on that or dehumidifer.

dont worry about the cash lad, i have done many before lost a few but im still here lol. ill have 3x 4250 box fans dragging that humidity out.
