48 hours of darkness b4 harvest

Hey guys hope everyone is cool ..

just wondering what you guys think about putting the plant (s) into 48hours of darkness b4 you chop to increase “Trichomes” ?? Please only comment if you have Actually tried doing it and not any speculation .. Thank you

my idea behind doing it, is that it puts the plant (s) under stress thinking they are fully dying and as a result protect themselves through a defence mechanism by coating herself with THC?

just my 2 cents but would love to hear what u wonderful peeps think

I've done it but not because of any broscience. I did it because I shut off the lights and was too lazy to trim right away.

Do it or don't. But don't expect any changes in the final product whether 48 hours of darkness or not.

If you would have used the search feature you would have found that there are already 52 threads with "48 hours darkness" in the title.

Yes you should do it. Makes buds more resinous.

The cloudy trichomes that give you the psychoactive effect, take WEEKS to develop and ripen. A last-minute 48 hr push for trichomes is not only false, but assuming it did work that way, it would result in a bunch of new unripe heads, which would need weeks more to ripen. So by theory, even if the 48-hr dark thing worked, it would be detrimental to the ripeness of your final product.

The "final dark period" whether 24, 48, or more hours, is just a waste of time. One benefit to it, IMO, is that it technically starts your slow-drying process by not receiving any more water.

Do you not think the existing trickz would mature faster due to the extended dark?
