I've been thinking about how to setup my cool tube, im still waiting for it to arrive.

I am thinking

vent hole>6 inch fan>ducting>cooltube>ducting>vent hole

does this make sense? I want to isolate the cooltube and think i need to push air through instead of pull.

jp, I set up and almost identical system last week. I used 1 inline 6" fan. 5 plants were vegging under cfl's when the tent arrived. After 5 days, the smell necessitated making a scrubber.

I modified this and it immediately cleared the smell. Temps are not a problem here so I pulled the intake from inside the tent and opened the vents on the bottom of the tent.

If you ordered the GYO tent, the openings are 4", not 6".

Subbed!

The tent i bought is supposed to have 4 and 6 inch ports for vents along with the usual flaps and what not. I am considering using a 4 inch scrubber inside the tent and vent out the back. the one i was looking at had a 4 inch inline fan and a carbon scrubber attached.for 127 plus shipping. Ill just have to pick up some 4 inch ducting.

I have grown hydro for about 2 years so im aware of the smell. I havent had much trouble out of the neutral smelling plants but it would be nice to completely solve the smell problem.

Sorry man. I'm a total newb at indoor growing. I hope your cool tube is more efficient than mine. I'll be replacing the tube on my next trip into the city with a better dispersing reflector. :)

Cheers

Answer: vent hole>ducting>cooltube>ducting>vent hole> 6" fan.

If you push air through you run the good possibility of blowing off a connection point due to pressure.
If you pull air through you pull the connections together. <better!

Oh ok thank you! Thats backwards to what i would have done. You make a good point, i didnt think the pressure would be great enough to mess anything up. As long as the 6 inch fan can pull, im happy

I am totally considering getting the 4 inch scrubber for the main chamber vent. Does anyone have one in a tent this size? or should i look for a 6 inch scrubber?

Agreed, you should pull the air though not push it. Can't wait to see it all come together for you man.
