btw the tent comes with 2 six inch and two 4 inch vent holes. Does the scrubber need to be up high? it weights 30 pounds and im worried it wont hold up that much additional weight.

Ok i matched the fan to the tent i believe, the 4 inch should be plenty. the carbon is inside the tent and blowing through ducting to the 4 inch ports. So in theroy this will cut all the smells from outside the tent.

Scrubber>fan>ducting>4 inch vent hole

would this work at all if the scrubber was on the floor?

I have a 6 inch carbon filter/fan attachment, it is at about half speed. 4 inch should be fine, but it would have to be turned up all the way (if using a 600 watt) if your doing a 400 watt it think it should be fine but it's cutting it close.

Yeah i would prefer to go with a 6 inch and do half power but if im right i have to use the 4 inch holes since my two 6 inch will be for my light.

I will know more when i put the tent up naturally. Did you hang your scrubber?

ok ordered a 6 inch carbon scrubber with inline fan, 6 inch ducting, speed controller, and a light timer.

that should take care of any smell issues. I can pick any strain i like woohoo. i have some ak 48's ive been wanting to try.
i just never did because they were stinky. This scrubber should take care of that in style. I ordered 10 yards of velcro so i can hang the scrubber up high where the hot air lives.

Can't wait to see some pics. I'm running a 4x4x6 atm and was able to hang my filter up top with no problems along with my light/hood... Thats close to maxing the weight it can take though. I recently built a 2x4 frame into mine so I could hang some really heavy Fluoro banks - that's always an option you have. Generally you want to pull through your ducting, light, and filter versus pushing through it. Check out my grow and mrorganics what posts in my grow, might be helpful - and we are all starting this go around the same time so could be fun to watch and compare. Its the xray grow in my sig if interested.

I am planning to put the tent together this week. I am still moving furniture around so bare with me. Everything is stuffed in a closet waiting for me to get started. The light should be here any day.
The carbon scrubber should be here within another week. well here are a few pics to tide you till i put together the good stuff.

haha can't wait to see all that constructed and lighted bongsmilie... The tent your runnin is the same size tent I'd like to get and flower in with a 400w hps so I defiantly can't wait to see how it looks..

I tried those yo yos and i couldnt stand to use them either. they didnt work out for me at all.

Im planning to grow a dwarf lime tree with my weed simply because i love to cook with limes. As i said before i have some ak48 seeds left over i think i will try out.
Ill grow up to 5 of them and hopefully get some nice buds out of it. I am so interested in trying soil. I am a hydro guy but i keep hearing how great dirt grown weed is supposed to be.
So i figured id try it out and see.

I was thinking about converting my closet into a veg room. Just power it with cfl's and prepare them for flowering in the big tent.
Maybe veg them for a month then put them into the flowering tent for 12/12.

anyone grown the ak48's? if so how long did you veg? I have plenty of room for plants to grow tall.

^ what dropastone said. Just be careful pulling the rope to lift the lights if they are held up by the tent. You may need to do a little lifting as you pull the rope.

I have never seen anyone use an inline fan like that and have it work well. They work better as assist fans. Have you seen anyone use one that worked?

You may have the room for tall plants but that is not an efficient use of light or plant. The penatration of a 400w is not as much as a stronger light source so you will be waisting time and energy. You should think either more smaller plants or fewer plants vegged longer and trained to keep them short and bushy. i.e. SCROG, LST, Topping.... just my thoughts.

I see, ill encourage the plants to stay as short as i can. I will start researching different methods. i have done topping before and it worked so i may use that as well.
