486w CFL Nirvana AK48 regular

Ok, so this is my first post having lurked for a 'lil while. I'm day 12 into 12/12 and just had to can my first homeboy today, 1 confirmed lady and 2 yet to show. Piccies to follow, this is just a place holder for my flower journal. Great site everyone!

I thought i'd add a bit of background to this one, as i'm not starting the thread from seed so to speak. Here are some specifics

Lighting: 1 x 300w Dual Spec CFL (big mo fo), 2 x 30w Warm Whites in lamp stands, 3 x 30w Warm White in side fittings, 2 x 22w Warm White in side fittings (just realised i can't add up - thread title should read 494w)
Medium: Canna Terra Professional
Nutes: Canna Terra Veg / Canna Terra Flores + PK13/14 for a boost
Pot Size: 4.5Ltr
Environmentals: Temps (68 to 86F), RH (40 to 60%), PH (don't measure it, i'm in "that" camp)
Cabinet: Home made MDF dual height cabinet with 3 x 12" ventilation fans, 1 x 10" CFL cooling fan, 2 x Extractor fan (both with home made carbon filters)
Monitoring: Electronic RH / Temp sensor kept at canopy level
Feeding Schedule: Every 48 hrs, alternating between filtered water and double strength nutes (AK48 loves it hard and strong - bless her!)

Plant #1 Name = TBC
Veg Time: 52 days
Cultivation: Topped twice (Day 18 and Day 32)
Structure: 4 x Dominant Cola (8 nodes), 4 x side Cola (7 nodes), slight side branching at dominant leave petioles
Sex: Confirmed Female day 8 of 12/12 (female pre-flowers on Dominant cola nodes 5 & 6)

Plant #2 & 3 Name = The Twins
Veg Time: 28 days
Cultivation: Topped once (Day 16)
Structure: 2 x Dominant Cola (5 nodes), 2 x Secondary Cola (5 nodes)
Sex: TBC
Note: These two plants are co-potted (this is an experiment so please don't tell me i'm retarded)

Hi mate welcome to RIU, I'm growing ak48 aswell, they are a great strain and really really smell!! I hope u got the odour under control cus when them buds start growing they stink.

Check out my grow it's the nirvana ak48 that's around here check it out.

Any way looks good keep doing what ur doing. And as for them being in the same pot I'm sure they will be fine aslong as they are both deffo ladys.

Sub'd to your thread Tam, be watching that with interest - we're using the same kind of lights i'm convinced they'll deliver a decent yield for CFL grow.

If one of the twins turns our to be a girl and one a boy, i'll clone the main colas from the girl giving me four females and bin the male. Had one male already, was absolutely astonishingly massive, 16 nodes, 6 colas, 4 nodes side branches at each leaf petiole, was gutted it was a boy. Them's the breaks as they say!

Just put 5 more AK48 into germ, i may add those to this journal or start another. Gonna veg in a cheekily converted PC tower case...... more to follow

So here's a new one on me. Put 5 seeds in to germ on Wednesday night at 10pm, all germed by Thursday 8pm and planted in soil with humidity hoods. 3 Have now broken ground! That's 51hrs from dry seed to cotyledons showing! Will post some pics later....

hey raise the plant up a little, i got some of my buds an inch away from my 250watters and all seems good, just put your hand inbetween to check the heat

Picture update time. Here's the list
1. Converted PC case diamond mylar lined with 2 x 22w Warm White CFLs and 12cm Fan
2. My main lady - still to be named. i saw someone on xxxninjaxxx thread had named a mutant "dirty bud hooker", funny as! I'm hoping someone had got an equally funny name for this one, answers on a post card please
3. Main lady under my 300w bad boy. you can also see some of the side lighting i've put in to help with undergrowth
4. First picture of "the twins". You might not be able to see but this is actually 2 topped plants co-potted (experiment!)
5. Top down shot of main lady with the twins in the background
6. Recently sprouted AK48 seedlings currently running 24/0 with humidity hoods. Think i'll give them another few days before i unsheath them and change the lights to 18/6

Since detecting pre-flowers on the main girl, there's been little sign of changes apart from the main colas growing like 6"!! Still no sign of sex on either of the twins, but i'm hopeful. I read a thread about plant "senses" and i'm wondering if having these plants in the same flower room as a virulent male would have done anything? Obviously i've chopped the offending male down and binned him off, but they were co-located for about 8 days...... just a thought, don't know if any of that makes sense..........

Ok, update after a short break. I'm pleased to announce..........both of the twins are girls! Get it. I hereby christen them , Mary-Kate and Ashley. I've decided to name my main girl Veronica. What can i say, Veronica Mars is my guilty pleasure. Kristen Bell is hotter than the sun. Pictures (of my girls) to follow shortly. Restecp (sic)
