4oow hps on a 600w digital ballast

Right i bought 2 hps 600w bulbs except the chap in the shop by mistake gave me 1 400w hps and 1 600w, i have a lumatec 600w dimable ballast
IE
400w
400w super lumen
600w
600w super lumen

now i have been running the 400w bulb by mistake on 600w super lumen, LOL
Does anyone know how that would compare running a 600w
the element in a 400 is shorter would the light be more intence than a 600 hundred

not me^I've did it, and was okay, but yeah he need's the right bulb for that 600w.

The 600w is all most twice the lumens, then the 400w

strange as it sounds the 400 hundred seams brighter than the 600 also the light seams to be quite yellow

when i put the 600 in i thought it seamed more like a metal halide

hopefully your ballast isnt messed up from using it with a 400w bulb :/

i would think as long as the bulb is burning the electric it will be fine , no probs yet
