4th week of flowering; need to add more light or a mover. Will it help or is it to late?

the plants got tall and thick in the center and the outer plants are not as developed, is it to late to get more bud out of them by adding lights or a light rail in order to change the lighting to a more even spread?

I know i should've flowered them a bit earlier, maybe around 18" and not 24" as they are now so tall the center rows block out the lights to the outer rows.

My system is the following;
NFT- 2 sets of 5 8' (7 plant) RAILS overall dimensions are 7'x16'
4 600w HPS

are they in pots, just rotate every 2 day(if not ,next time use pots). The proposed plan should help even out growth. Maybe even think about 12" tall at flowering and have more plants.

How many plants exactly? One guideline that is thrown around is 100 per plant. Your definately not going to get much coverage on 600's at the current dimensions. The dimensions are quite odd really but it is what it is. A single 600 with a good hood will cover 12 sq ft. And you have 7.5 times that. So 3-4 more hoods or a mover. The light rail to move all four is $450.

More light will definately make a difference, especially in the latter half of flower
.
Questions you need to ask:
Can you reduce the spacing?
Cam you afford 4 new lights?
Do you hve the coiling power for them?
Do you have the avaialavle amps/ circuits for them?

I would probably go with the 5.0 light rail. Reorient the tables so they are 8' by 14 feet. Your four lights will be evenly spaced the 14' an then move back and forth along the 8 foot.

Thanks for the advice,

I have 70 plants, in 4x4 rockwool cubes spaced about 18" apart in 5"x5"x8' pvc fence posts (no pots).

So as you can see I cannot reduce the spacing.
my control box will not allow me to have any more than 6 lights (i have 4 now)
cooling and amps/circuits is not an issue.

Plan was to go sea of green and flower at 12" (which I’ve had great success with before my 10 year break in growing), avoiding the jungle we currently have however my partner could not see the reasoning in having smaller plants and I was somehow talked into it. now these plants are growing into each other and light is not getting to the lower parts of the plant and the upper end is hitting the lights (they are vented so it's not the end of the world)

I agree the light rail 5.0 is probably the best way to go and am open to your suggestion about rotating the tables however, I need a bit more clarification;
-Are you suggesting 2 light rail 5.0's setups, running parallel with the crossbar (2 lights at each end of the bar)? If so can I use the trolley and push rod to do a side by side drive and auxiliary pulley?

I was thinking light rail 5.0 as well with the drive motor, trolley, push rod and an extra rail. Avoiding having to rotate the system, this would be around 700 bucks. Then I saw the hydrofarm 6' chain driven rails 4 shown in the picture. They run 100 each so I’d save 300 but add complication to the system (cords, vent pipes) as the lights are not moving as a system.

THE BOTTOM LINE IS; is the investment worth it?
Am I going to be able to increase my yield in the remaining 3 weeks of flowering?
Will the smaller outer plants grow bigger, bloom better with the added light?

Thanks again for the help.
