4x4 400w

Just got done with a quick grow, and my buds did not turn out as expected. I know there are numerous factors that could explain why but my question is, in a 4x4 tent with 400whps does that require a inline to cool it? I think my temps may have been too high and caused heat stress.

400w is a small amount of light for16sq ft.
Are you sure it wasn't alack of light intensity...?

Don't you have a hygrometer?
Worthwhile buy for $15 or so....

Those buds look fine....
What's the problem with how they turned out?

What are your temps? You don't say. You definitely need proper air replacement, and in an area that size, I would definitely recommend an inline.

I agree with England. They look ok to me as well.

They just always seem kinda scraggly, not firm packed tight buds. I will admit i am being critical but i still think cycling air through the tent may help. Im not sure about temps, at least 80*F

The buds look fine, the hairs are not pressed against them because you cured them in a manner where they were not tightly packed. I think air cycling is a good idea in order to replace CO2 and to move the heat and humidity out.

80 aint too hot.....my garden I just harved was pretty larfy on the fem seeds I tried but my go to clone only was dense and full as always.....I'm going to blame the genetics here....have you grown that before with better results?

No its white widow, i believe i got from dr. j or something. It looks similar but it could be bad genetics in the strain. I cut a bud from the plant early in flowering in hopes of getting a mother, and i also got a blue dream seed. Im hoping its a female, i assume i should wait on cutting clones until i know, and also how much bigger does it need to be until i am able to cut some.

I'm looking for the problem here and I can't find one.

As far as your fans and ventilation you are the one on-site and you just need to play around till you get stuff dialed in to your situation. Fresh air is always good.

There's no magic formula you can plug your stuff into. 400 needing an inline? Maybe, you are the one there with the gear and thermometer.

Scraggly loose buds as you described.... hit 'em with more light.

JMO as usual

400 watts / 16 sq ft = 25 watts / sq ft or about half of whats recommended as optimal. you would need another 400 watts to get there. in which case you'd definitely need ventilation.

i run a 4x4 tent w/ 1000 watts. very dense buds...
