4x4 Bed/HLG Scorpion R Spec LED/Bodhi Seeds/Coots mix +

Perhaps look into adding seabird guano, bio fish, and maybe alfalfa meal. I use all from down to earth. I feel like it covers some gaps in your nutes. I could be wrong for sure too though.

Thanks bud. Are you talking about my topdress or what was in the base soil?

I fudged your not using alfalfa but didn’t have time for it to cool down you know? I recently got 3LB of Buildasoils craft blend to play with, this is what’s in it

  1. Thorvin Premium Kelp Meal
  2. Karanja Cake - Terviva
  3. Alfalfa Meal
  4. Soft Rock PhosphateÂ
  5. Camelina Meal
  6. Crustacean Meal
  7. Fish Meal
  8. 3x Fish Bone Meal
  9. Soybean MealÂ
  10. Sul-Po-Mag (Also Known as K-Mag or Langbeinite)
  11. Organic Malted Barley
  12. Volcanic Tuff
  13. Micronized Basalt - Blue Ridge Meta
  14. Gypsum
  15. Oyster Flour

That looks like a solid mix ill research it tomorrow. I still think you'd benefit from something like seabird guano. Again I could be crazy. I think the rapid availability in a topdress really helps things. I base this on nothing but my own experience lol.

I have it too. But I think it's kind of hot. I should do an experiment with it alone and see how hot the soil gets.

I used to use it and was happy with it, I want to get some just incase I don’t have time to wait for amendments to break down you know? Works faster.

What light is this? Power?

It’s expensive but I really like it

Damn that’s a fat sack. It must work well huh? I updated my buildasoil lineup, check it.
My whole basement is filled with BAS shit, lol.

And when I say hot, I mean it gets hot when the microbes go to work. I do little batches of top dressing, and if I think it's gonna get hot, I'll cook it first before I add it.

It can literally get hot. I was surprised how hot the shit can get. Hotter than my hot tub can get.

So I did a Topdressing like two weeks ago, a rather light one I believe… I priced some leaves yellowing/dying lower on the plant which may just be from lack of light, but I was thinking maby I should do a light topdress with the craft blend?

You said it can be hot, should I mix it in with some wetted compost and let it sit for a few days?

Lastly, I’m 3 weeks and 3 days into flower. Is it too late to cut a few branches that I think should go? When I see most people defoliate, seems like a lot will take even the leaves off drom the bottom of the plant… I left the leaves and just snipped of branches/shoots. Here’s a pic.

It’s hard to tell I know, going to keep it much cleaner next time… thoughts on what/if I should do anything? @kratos015 I tagged you bc youve been helpful and didn’t think you’d mind, but this is for anyone to answer

I don't think Craft Blend is that hot. I use that stuff straight and don't have any issues. The seabird guano is what I noticed is hot.

First off. Great job man. My first gut instinct is telling me the opposite. You need it not so clean. You need moisture on the surface first of all. And a thriving ecosystem. Why are you not putting your leaves on the bed. On my perfect world the straw is completely decomposed by 2nd run. Chop and drop all leaves from grow. Heavier cover crops snd daily spray down of mulch layer. This 4x8 gets 1 gallon a day sprayed on soil surface. A few weeks before end of cycle chop snd drop all cover crops.

They look pretty good. What size pots are those?
Ya I was thinking you were talking about the guano being hot. It’s a 4x4 bed with like 4-5 container plants, the containers are probably like 4-5 gallons tops?

I’m wondering if a light topdress of craft blend would be beneficial, they look good now but trying to stay ahead you know. Thoughts?

When I give it to 15 gal pots I use like a cup if that's all I'm adding. You definitely want to try to stay ahead of things, but I don't always.

I meant my lack of defoliating, you think I made the right choice not defoliating too much? That’s what I meant by keeping it cleaner.

I do chop and drop my leaves ontop of the straw. I didn’t think about it spraying the straw/leaves though, good idea. Do you spray just water, or you probably add aloe/coconut sometimes huh?

I have this blumat system I STILL havnt set up, someone sent me a helpful link to setting it up though.

Lastly, you think I should topdress some craft blend? The plants look good, but want to stay ahead of any issues.

Have you ever ran into problems adding a topdress that you ended up not needing, and locking out nutes? I know organics can be a little more forgiving, but could see it causing issues still
With that volume of soil I doubt nutrients are needed at this point. Instead working on the blumat and yeah just water in top. Pump sprayer Ez pz.

what’s hard about the kit?? I’ve set a few up
