So i was thinking of runing a 1kin a 4x4 which im sure is overkill but i wanted to add my 600 aswell… 1k will be dialed down while using a hps 600 will also be dialed down while runing mh… any thoughts to this??
DIAlED DOWN!! Before anyone starts bashing… i tried a 600 and it wasn’t enoughf but a 1k will be overkill, i just want to give a good spectrum and not just hps

Hello I run a 4x4 with 2 600w air cooled hoods. I'm in the UK and I pull air thru them both using a 6 inch fan around 520m/3. I draw air from outside. If there's a heat wave I dim them too 400w each but anything at 20*-22* (outside air temps) or below is fine. I also run them at 660w boost most days. My temps range from 26*-31* at light level depending on weather, plus I have another 6inch fan extracting though a carbon filter pulling air through tent (2 tents actually) in my other tent I have 1 600w. There's no way I would add anymore watts or need them for my purpose but obvs it depends on your factors AC, weather, fans plus I've changed my whole layout several times trying to get it more efficient with temps like ducting placement/length and extra inlet airflow and after alot of time and effort am happy with way it is now. My plants love it please let me know if u wanna see pics of how I've got it setup.

:-) ... Do you have any pics?

I do think 2 600s are very much doable, anything above definitely AC needed. I've even had a 6 inch fan on the intake and outake of the ducting for the 2 air-cooled and temps ran exactly the same with jus a outake which suprised me.

Thats a great setup you got there…
I was planing on running a portable ac this time around. My last run with the 600 alone was 86 degrees in the tent.
This time i want to pull air from the room through the cool hood(s) and exhaust outside with one fan just like you frogglet,
and set up the carbon filter with another fan, hopefully this will keep things cooler and provide enough air exchange.
Does it keep the hoods pretty cool?

Hello, thanks guys. Yes they are surprisingly cool when I first added the other after using just one light on my first grow I thought heat would be too much adding another but it added alot less heat than I thought. Make sure your hoods are air tight mine wasn't even tho it said in the box I had to line the seams with weather seal. Make sure the closed loop of hoods had the shortest and straightest ducting u can. Also my small tent pulls in air from outside pushes into bigger tent and both tents have additional intakes at bottom. You want the tent pulling in slightly but not stretching the tent fully. So I have 2 6inch inlets on small tent (one draws from outside) and the big tent also has 2 6 inch inlets (one from small tent and one pulling from the room. This allowed me to crank carbon filter fan to around 75% without mega suction and more air flowing through whole system is key. Try to put extraction fan outside of the tent too as I found is was sitting at top radiating alot of heat.

I love it brother i think ima run just the 1k for now but ima follow your style of ducting.
I know what you mean about the tent stretching…
I was pulling air throught my last system and it looked like my 4x4 was a 3.3x3.5 i was definitely sucking air in. I hope this keeps temps cooler..
Also i dont know wether the 1k would provide a better yield or not, im already pulling around 600+ off of it so well see if its worth the extra effort
