4x4 tent, 1 pot, what size?

Hi all,

To keep it simple im doing 1 pot in a 4x4. Deciding between a 15 or 20 gallon fabric? Which one would you choose? Height isn't a problem.

Get an old 48" hot tub from CL free section. Build the tent around the hot tub.

5 galon should be plenty for a simple one plant grow

I have grown trees in 20 gal. containers.

I do 5 gallon for any of my tent grows up to 4-6 plants; anything more then that I would probably go with 3gals but I rarely run over 4 plants in my 4x4 tents

need more details sir, what medium are you going to use? How often are you ready and willing to water? Will this be a scrog?

Assuming your going to scrog and use simple Promix HP for your medium I would suggest a 10 gallon fabric pot, waterred frequently like a hydro grow. Basically treating the 10 gallons of medium like a large "rockwoll cube" but its size would allow you some time if wanted between waterrings.

I have seen huge plants in 4" tiny cubes, basically getting dripped on all day recirculating style.
Need more details of how you plan to grow to answer better cheers

There’s no 1 size fits all answer.
Depending on the strain, the growing method, and the grow medium you might make different choices.
Are you going to veg for more than 8 weeks and top 3 times or more?
Is the strain a 7 week flower period or a 12 week or longer?
That said, other than the unnecessary cost for a larger container you should be fine with anything 10 gallons or larger for a single plant 4x4 grow

Thanks. Its a hybrid in a single tent for 8 weeks of veg. Im thinking 20 gallon fabric as i can always fill it 70% of the way.

Use an Airpot if you must but, SKIP the fabric pots.....to much lost root space....

If you're growing in super soil, you'll need to keep that in mind when choosing the size of a pot to utilize. Sohum at least had a chart for that, based on time in veg and time flowering. In general, bigger is better as that means more microbes and such in the soil to make nutrients for your plant.

I can tell you from personal experience that you're gonna be in veg for a long time to fill out a 4x4 with a single plant. My original plan was to just grow 2 plants in my 2.5x2.5, but I ended up upgrading to a 4x4 and I got tired of waiting on 2 to fill out the space and just flipped so I could open it up for my next run of 5 plants.

If you're not constrained by legality, you'd probably be happier growing more plants in that space.
