(5) 26w 6400k CFL vs (1) MH 400w 4000k

Hey guys i want some opinions plz asap. I currently have a 400w,4000k MH conversion bulb running on an HPS Ballast system for my veg. I hav 6 clones in a DWC hydro system about 2 wks old. My temp in there hovers around 90F and humidtiy around 60%. I am contemplating switching out the 400w MH for 4/5 26w 6400k CFLs. Im thinking this would lower my temp to a more favourable one and the colour temp of the cfls is better suited for veg. I would appreciate any thoughts, ideas or comments that will better my situation. thanx

wow 90eh? thats damn hot...got some venting going on? if the heat cant be lowered by better exhaust or is not an option, then yeah i would switch to CFL's for vegging and throw HPS bulb back in for flower. BUT how will you keep temps down in there for flower? the MH will be your best bet for good growth and thick bushes but that 90 heat is an issue!

Peace

thanx for the replies guys... i appreciate it. my thoughts on this are, if the MH Kelvins where higher then it would hav made sense to try and work around it. from my reading up on light temp I found that alot of people believe that 4000k is a waste, ok for veg and ok for flower but not worth the hastle. I think im going to put in the cfls for the veg but as sirbudmaster correctly stated I will run into this problem again in a month when I put my HPS in the room for flower. atleast this will giv me a month to work out somthing to reduce my heat.

probably the smartest route for less stress. i used a 400 watt halide @ 3000K through a whole grow and had fantastic results.......get your air in check and you can reap the benefits of that HPS light you got
