Im purchasing some PH up because I read that using lime was very slow. My run off is 5.5. I just flushed it. What PH'd water should I add to increase the PH to the recommended 6.3-6.7?

sillk, The plant problems guide didnt say anything about using bakingsoda. How many teaspoons per gallon should I use?

Silky, Yup, definatly what looks like calcium deficiency problems. But I think its because of cal lockout. The guide says fix ph first.

it depends on wether you are in soil or hydro? hydro ph should be 5.2 - 5.8, for soil 6.2 - 6.8. get some ph up and ph down from your local pet store. or order some online.

I want to know what PH the water needs to be. I bought some PH up, and got the PH of the water to 9.5, but im afraid thats too high too fast. Could shock the plant. What do you all think, 9.5 OK?

yes, do not use that high of ph, flush with an accurate ph until your drainage reads correct. ph being between 6.2 - 6.8

my tap water test at 9.2 and always has to be lowered adjust water to neautral 7.0 and let the ph stbilize slowly a violent shift in ph is never good for any plant..once it's getting close to 6.0 lower water ph back to 6.5 just how I would do it its up to you:)

your ph of water and/or nute mix should be from 5.9 to 6.8 for soil
your soil ph should be up to 7 max.

dont add that high ph`d water, youll lock up for sure.
you need lime to adjust the soil and it takes a week or so. you dont want to adjust it faST

the ph up is for the water/nute mix not the soil

Kaos, its promix and MG organic. It does already have limestone in there, but Im still getting the crazy acidic reading. I got a liquid PH meter I got off
of ebay. My tap water comes out to about 7.1 or so ph

Thanks bonz, I knew what it was supposed to be at, but I already flushed it with the 8 ph water, thanks anyways though. They do look better though. I flushed them again today and Im still getting about 5.5 run off, so it is better.

it wont improve unless you flush it with proper ph`d water. 6 ph or you will just make it worse
