Use the 5 600 watters, you'll have more points of light and be able to spread the lumens more efficiently.

not to mention with 5 600 i think it will equal more lumens the only downfall is when it comes to replaceing the bulbs it will be more expensive but i am assuming with that kind of operation funds for bulbs wont be a problem

i'm running four 600's with batches of 20 under each of em. So there's a total of 80 in there.

If each light covers 16 square feet and you can get 64 plants under each you should be looking at 320 total.:-):peace:

It's not that simple.

Here's the main difference:

600w lights allow a more even spread of light across a short canopy.

1000w lights allow a deeper penetration into a tall canopy, but create more 'hot spots' under the lights.

Id say -
"If you are doing a SOG and plan on a canopy of 18" tall or less, go with the 600s"

"If you are growing taller plants, than go with the 1000s"

aero king is on point,, i have used 600s and 1k's, but its all about ur setup. if your gonna air cool, and how much money you have to start with. 1ks come out cheaper in the long run, it takes a LONG time to come back into the cost of an extra light in 3 600w setup compared to 2 1ks. an before your even close to making your money back in the 200watt an hour saving youll have to buy new bulbs. so more money again... like aero said, big or small plants...

600w are cooler temp wise, but i find 1ks give tight hard nugs, even on tall 3 footers,,
