5 day clone NO roots but New growth

Hello everyone. I am fairly new to growing. I've just taken clones from mothers, (Granddaddy purple and Purple Kush) 5 days ago. Used clonex, growing them in an aeroponics system under t5 lights. I haven't gotten roots yet but gotten new growth. My question is, is this normal? I know it'll be a while before I get roots, but am I supposed to get new growth already?

to much light (watts)

you only need like 25 -50 watts to root your clones....more wattage means the plant concentrates on new top growth... not root development

Thanks a lot colonuggs. So I will reduce it! I'm changing the res water tomorrow. I'm planning on adding couple drops of voodoo juice and rapid start. Any suggestions?

I use a 25 site cloner machine, 6.5 ph'd water, 5ml of regen a root per gallon of water, and an air stone under a t8 2x4' 6500k lights 24/0. after 7 days the roots really start growing. 10 days and im potting in solo cups. I have a 99.99% success rate every time I clone.

I use the ez cloner.... no additives...water at 6.5...... temp of water 70-75 *F.... a 40 watt shop light....

how fast you get roots depends on strain... usually 1 to 3 weeks
