5 Gal. ?

So here's the deal I have 10 32 watt bulbs and one 65 watt which I'm using to flower. Both were in veg for 4 weeks, now they are at the end of week one. This might be a stupid question but should I move them over to my 5 gal buckets I would of done it already if I knew transplanting them would even make a difference after the stress it would cause them.

It turned out one was a male so I just have the one lady in the 3 gal. It's been about a week Do you think that she will be ok in that pot or move her she's grown a lot in this past week. I can update with a pic when I get back
 
If you are flowering, it best to not transplant. All your transplanting etc.. should be done in veg and transplanting at min a week before flower. That's my opinion.

Well said.

The hps is a huge huge difference even in veg. I started cfl. Had 100 watts. Pulled under 2 ounces. Moved to a 400 watt hps and before I could flower bought a 600w hps to add in. After drying, 20 oz. Not the best BT you get better each time.
To the original question. In my opinion, you don't have enough light to need that much soil. If you get hps, the yes 5 gallon

even a 250w hps. can get a vert fixture from hydro farm for $25. has the sun system connector. i have 2 of them. the standard hid mogul. takes the big ass cfls & hid (any watt). cheap magnetic ballast. & dude would be making much better flowers.
 
you dont benefit transplanting before flower. the plant has already done the root ball so to speak. you'll get some more root growth for sure. but the majority is done & done. you'll feed more. the plants dry out faster. & they grow bro. & they flower. to benefit from a 5gal (which is about a 7 to 8 gal garden container) veg time is your friend.

if you're gonna transplant & veg more. yes ! if you're going to flower, id leave them. feed them right. that's all. get a fan down low. & , to be very clear, container size vs root ball plays a roll in stretch. you want the biggest sneaker you can get type thing. & give the lady time to fill out. crop, tie up, stake, etc.

the plant will grow into the container space. no matter a 16 gal tote or a 2 gal grow bag. only veg time dictates. in contrast , if i transplant from a 3gal to a 50gal & flip. yeah you aint getting mo nugz.

& i know guys that can snatch 10 to 14 dry zips from a 3x3 & a 250w lamp. 5k block of coco. 16gal tote. scrog screen.

listen to these guys. they telling you correct.

Do you really think its harder for a plant to move to a bigger container than to have all the roots crushed into a small pot?

No, but based on the fact that he is already in flower, the size of the plants vs the size of the pots he is in there shouldn't be an issue. I like my plants to focus on flower development in flower and not root building. That being said I use air pruning pots so root bound plants are not a concern or problem I deal with. This is just the way Iike to do it. To each their own. It's not my grow. He asked for opinions. I gave him mine. :blsmoke:

Have you ever grown in dwc? I noticed a long time ago the roots grow an amazing amount in flower when not confined in anyway. Also plants with constricted root systems are prone to over fertilization when feeding hard in flower. Ive/I also usually do a transplant right near flip to 7 gallons from five but on occasion dont. The plants that ive not done the upcan to have substantially less flower development than the ones that get the bigger pot.

Never done dwc. I don't doubt they grow during flower. Especially because my pots will have roots coming out the bottom at the end. Its just the way I've always done it. I definitely believe the larger yields from the larger pots/less cramped roots.
