5 Plants 4000 Watts - Colorado Medical Grow 3 LBS Per Light Dried&Cured.

This is my buddies grow that I set up for him in Colorado I snapped these pics last time I was there. It's an idea we had to save on setup cost and to stay under the confined limits on a plant number of Six. There is Three SK that average two pounds in the corners of the room. The one Sour Kush (SK) in the middle hits close to 2.5 - 3LBS Dried if done right and dependent upon strain, as it has four 1000 watt Lights pushing light right through the plant producing very compact buds. The Grape at it's small stature of 36'' tall by 40 -42'' wide hits from 1- 1.5 LBS as does the Blue Widow in the back right. Last run he did was Critical Mass x Unknown Strain Dried and Cured was just under 12LBS. I will update this with new pics as he sends them to me if anyone is interested.

I guess my question is, if anyone knows if with this type of setup is that normal to hit yields of close to 3 LBS per light dependent upon strain? or is this on the low side? I've talked to guys growing monster plants saying they have hit always 3lbs and up to 5 LBS on a plant....wtf? How? We thought we did our job if it yielded 2 per light and it does with out question every time. This has been by far the cheapest grow room I have ever built and most efficient!! With four lights in a flower room I would have to say this is by far the best way to go. Each plant is in a 25 gal Roots Pot/ Smart Pot filled with Roots Coco Chips. Grown With Advanced Nutrients Grand Master Line.

How do I get bigger yields, I have gotten bigger yields from plants when grown taller in this setup but the sour kush just doesn't do right growing tall...? can anyone tell me what strain would be best for this setup?

how long did you vegg these plants man Im starting a new grow in az and wanna do this extact setup??

Clones were taken, rooted in 10 days, topped to slow growth down, then vegged for about 2 weeks under T5 Flourecent bulbs. From there they were about 10 inches tall when I transplanted them into 25 Gal Smart Pots, Brand was actually Root Pots. From there they vegged in same room for about 7 weeks !BESIDE! four 1000watt Metal Halides, I said beside!! same room layout & fixtures. They were trained like Navy Seals for about 6 out of those 7 weeks on the 7th week they rested...lol. I only trained them low because the Sour Kush is soo wide the way it is. Next time I will be running Grape God Male x Sour Kush Female that I bred myself. I will let it grow taller. With this set up I think you will yield much more letting the plants just grow the way they like to. But I always recomend Kyle Kushmans bending & snapping techniques (you tube it) it really strenghthens them up big time to produce much bigger nuggs. Also like this they grow outward and not so much upwards, that way they spend all their energy on bud production and not on stretching for light.... sorry I'm rambling, I like to be detailed and explain my work, thats what makes me learn better...so why not share it.. I guess I could have been a dick and just said around 8 weeks....lol

Is it worth it economically in regards to electricity to veg for so long and flower?
Im assuming it takes 10 days to clone, 2 weeks under t5, then 7 weeks veg, plus maybe an 8-10 week flower time.
So total which after drying and curing is about a 5 month process.

getting 2lbs per light at a going rate of lets say 3,500 dollars that would be around 35,000 dollars a cycle.

do you know if your way is economically sound as having 5-6 plants per light average 1lbs per light and getting rid of the 7 weeks of extra veg time

and how do you keep those lights cool

I have no down time for cloning and rooting. that is done else where. you are spot on with the time frame. they train for 7 weeks in that room. My Sour Kush takes 11 fricken weeks to finish also... which sucks....last time I'm growing it. But it's a remarkable plant... Idk to me I feel it is worth it I've been growing for about ten years 8 years of headaches figuring out what works best... SOG, SCROG, DWC, Flood & Drain, I was the fricken Chuck Norris of making new hydro systems that didn't work out like "The Big Master Plan" was supposed to...you know the "this time I bet for sure I'm gonna get at least a pound from this a pound from that....bla fu**ing bla bla bla..." Never worked out for me like it was supposed to.
Yes, to me it is all worth it, I only have to worry about getting 5 clones for this room. I can pretty easily get around each plant to maintain it. and IK each time almost regardless of strain I'm getting 8LBS from four Lights each run. I get two runs a year whithout using AC. and if I pick out a high yielding strain I can hit anywhere around 12LBS... but figured on the low side like I always do and if you use your resources and stay patient you can squeeze $4000 per. if u sold it...I grow for other patients...but That calcs. to $84k - $96k for the year from one room. If I didn't care so much for tastier strains I could almost count on 11 - 12LBS a run... if you do the math... it's not bad at all. I could yes be more perpetual and crop out more often but I look at the big picture and ease of the grow this is the way for me!! I cannot see changing from this style of growing to anything else...I've ever heard of.


750 cfm fan exhausting air out of room, 8'' fresh air duct bringing in cold air. I actually find it easier to keep the temps down like this versus running a Perfect Room/ Sealed Room because the heat source always is there in the room with the hoods and glass heating up. If you turn the air over as much as I do, it's easy to keep the temps right where they need to be. I'm at 74- 79F Day, 65-70F night. 40% - 50% RH

I only Veg under T5's for rooting and cloning, I veg in this room beside 1000 watt MH EYE Hortilux Bulbs only! We just interchange the bulb from Metal Halide/veg to High Pressure Sodium/flower. Plants are in this room for minimum of 15 weeks. read my post earlier on page one about cloning for more of the specifics.

Yes hardly any fluff on the bottom, it resembles density of outdoor crops especially from the plant in the middle with four lights on it. It is top shelf my friend.

ok, i get yah. thanks for the info. im just trying to get a gauge as to the size of everything(SQFT, pot size, light placement, ect.
Just to gnarly for me to comprehend getting that big of a harvest. I believe youve done it though. Just takes time, patience and some TLC.
oh and a fuckload of money for electricity to front for five months haha. If i was able to not need a payday for five months i would probably try your method.

This Room is roughly 11' x11' 6'', it's hidden in a warehouse for personal reasons in the past, it's pretty fricken BA. I want to send some picks of it just to give people out there some cool ideas of what they can do with some extra space from buildings that don't rent out in this economy...or are rented out for that matter..lol tomorrow I will upload them. I know you all will enjoy thoroughly!! ok back to work.... middle of 4th week or so, yeah 25 gal. Roots Pots very similar but I like them better than Smart Pots they breath a bit better. Electric isn't so bad, my apt. has a big ass hot tub in the garage that we always have people in and a welder for my girlfriends art projects so ik all about preparing for the unexpected high electric bills!! I like getting one lump sum of cash rather than smaller increments here and there...women spend it too fast on you. hope the "dispensaries" pay good!!

Yeah thats cool r they root pooch or whatever I think that's what I'm rockin right now well just chopped a couple out of smart pots were expensive and there like the same thing, do you do any greenhouse out there I here kind of a lot of people do and also what's it like now "vending" your stuff over there it's basicly despensarys right you just don't need a card so can you just go vend to them?

Smart pots are ridiculously expensive, yeah there are better pots at about 1/2 the price... for sure! No there are still strict laws on selling kind of... all the medical MJ laws still apply that is separate from this new recreational law. friend to friend type sales.
