5 strain, first time grow

Hey guys, welcome to my journal . This will be my first time growing, and it has always been a dream of mine.


I plan on updating this journal as often as possible, but I may forget at times, so sorry if there's gaps.


For this grow I started in a closet with an assortment of lights I could find around the house that could produce enough light to start my off my seedlings. I gathered the means to start, and one day I got some really shitty weed and it was absolutely riddled with seeds! :/ So I germinated 9 and kept the 3 strongest 3 days later. All plants are going on an 18/6 light cycle.This is of an unknown strain and I'm hoping for a female. I will only be keeping one of them even if they are all female.

I then went seed shopping and found truenorth seed bank (needed a Canadian based seed distributer). They had a sale on canuk seed and Barney's farm seeds, so I purchased 1-auto lemon skunk from canuk, 1- blueberry from canuk, 1- Utopia haze from Barney's farm and I got a white widow as a freebie. I got these seeds a week ago and started to germinate them asap.

Day one for unknown strain was Oct 13. You'll notice 4 seedlings but one of their roots died later on and i just gave up on it.

Oct 22. Seeds showed their taproot after an 18hr water soak and then 24hrs, using the paper towel method.


Oct 27. My white widow hasn't been doing great the soil doesn't have nutes, so I'm guessing it's a weak seedling and got light burnt. Hopefully it pulls through.

My blueberry was the first to sprout and grew pretty tall.

Utopia haze was second to sprout and grew decently tall aswell.

And the autoflower lemon skunk was third, even though it had the longest taproot before planting.


Took a pic of the biggest unknown strain. They shot up and hopefully don't stop.


This puts me up to date phew. That was a lot of typing. I currently have a 4x4x7 tent on the way and a 600w Apollo mh&hp aircooled ballast and hood on the way. Both are expected to arrive late next week. So happy guys and can't wait to see everything come together! Any comments, opinions and questions welcomed and I hope to see you guys around!

these 3 unknown strains were gonna be my test plants for cropping methods. I was gunna top the 3rd node of strongest plant making it two nodes. Opinions?

5 strains could be difficult to grow out with differing harvest times expected

maybe make your vegging light 50/50 cool and warm whites for that right kelvin

an extract fan and pc type fan would be a nice edition

Plan was to veg under the 600MH in till I harvest the auto then flip to flower and harvest as needed

If this is your first griw, running different strai s like that is going to be difficult. They will all feed differently meaning you need to mix up 5 different feedings every time you feed. And as stated above flower cycle eill be different for each strain. It's going to make it very difficult to keep up with it. Especially being your first griw. And not knowing what you're doing. Oct 28. White widow is looking better but looks all sorts of weird.

And the unknown strain is doing well too. Other two aren't as happy as this one but oh well

Oct 29. White widow is growing but still looks all funky. One true leaf is much bigger and the second set is just starting to come in. Hopefully they are healthy and look normal

Everything else is looking good. The blueberry is stretching a bit too much so I'll have to support it if it stretches much more and I'll be planting a bit of the stem when it gets transplanted.

Can't wait for my tent and light to show up so these baby's can really get going.

The ones that stretched is bc the light is too far away from them. You need to lower your light and add soil to your pot. To make it deeper in the soil.

And when you transplant to bigger pots. I would add some more perlite for drainage. Good luck.

I have a pretty hillbilly light set up till a bunch of shipments come in. Tent and hps this week and waiting on stuff to finish my cloning closet. Lights cant get much closer :/. I was gunna replant as much as I could, lightly scrape the stem im planting with a blade and add root growth stimulant. I agree with the perlite, I'll have to grab a bag

Oct 30. Everything is growing well. White widow is looking good with it's deformities. It's second set of true leaves are tiny but look not so gibbled

I added more dirt to blueberry, lemon skunk auto and utopia haze and put a little root growth stimulant on the stem where i was putting the dirt.

Took a picture of 2 of the unknown strains. Looking good. One has Brown dots on its new growth on top. Looking into it but so far seems minor

Oct 31. Happy Halloween guys! My white widow looks spooky for the occasion haha.


Everything is chugging along nicely. My tent and light should arrive by Friday, fingers crossed.

Nov 1. Things seemed to get much bigger today. Found a bug in my closet and got it out asap. Hoping I don't have any more issues.

White widows second true leafs look better but slightly weird.

Tent and light in the next 40hrs!

Ok count me in for the ride. Looking good so far! I'm also doing a white widow grow right now. (First timer as well!) What lights did you end up ordering?

Packages came in, pics tonight. I got the apollo 600w mh&hps air cooled hood

Just a quick post and a few pics. Stuff is set up and just trying to get the environment right.

Nov 3. Can tell a huge difference in the plants already. They love the light!

White widow had its second set of true leaves grow pretty quick but they look funky. Too. Guess we'll see if it grows outta it.


Utopia haze looks great, as does pretty much everything else.

looking good for the most part! I'm doing a grow journal right now but with kindsoil. Ours are very similar in size right now!

Nov.4 No pics tonight, forgot to take them before lights out. I topped the biggest unknown strain and FIMed the second. Left the third as its not as healthy and i'd like to see the difference between the 3
