both about 6 weeks old

I'm on week 6 too of my first grow, but mine are indoors. I gotta say though, your plants look pretty thin and short. Mine are about 10-12 inches already (putting in flowering mode on Monday) but they look very bushy/stalky. Do they get much sunlight there during the day?

i know they are outdoors but are you giving them any nutes or water, or are they in the ass end of knowhere and you dont visit much? did you put down some decent soil for them to get started in or just put them into the ground with he soil thats there. also when you say 5 weeks do you mean you put a seed in the soil five weeks ago?
they should be fine as long as you keep them watered and giving nutes when needed wont hurt. hope all turns out well for you.

I would recommend using some sort of nutes, you are in the south, the soil sucks down here. Even if you use something like miracle grow for tomatoes, sold at lowes for $5.
give them a little something for a boost.

just want to add that "ground soil" is not soil, its just dirt. Soil by definition has organic material. what you got would benefit from anything. miracle grow, piss, poland spring. go to agway or home depot or whatever you got and get a small bag of 5*10*5* dude, even a handful of mulch/compost

i know realize reverof posted re: cheap tomato nutes, that is what i was also referring to, 5 10 5 is the ratio of nutes. As you already said you cant afford even a 5 dollar bag, i would suggest you look into making compost tea as a cheap substitute.

oh also props for getting them this far

i have added things like leaves and sticks and things that will add nutrients to the soil its not good but its not bad and as i said im broke im duing this to make money i dont really care if it turns to good weed the next time around is going to be alot more planned ahead and alot better.

even someone broke can afford miracle grow for tomatoes and it actually works very well... I am testing it on 2 plants, as it was recommended from another grower.

its $5.00 at lowes :)
