I have to call bullshit on this one. maybe indoors not out doors if you start them in feburary. I have personnally grown indicas grown to 7 feet that was topped 4 times3 people couldn't make a circle touching hands around it. The stalk was 1 inch around and the four bottom side branches almost caught the top. They were grown in a 6 gallon bucket. I do not no the strain but the leaves were so fat they looked like maple leafs and had lavender hairs that dryed to brite orange. Not trying to start shit. Just one of my experiences.first, i should have said is genetics - indica dominant strains do not grow to 5 feet no matter how long you grow them. sativa dominant plants can get to five feet in 6 to 8 weeks. and yes, those two lights will grow you a nice plant. in fact, that's enough light for two to four plants.
If you can't grow a 5 foot plant with those cfl's they probaly don't make them. If your using that much electric I don't under stand why you wouldn't get a 600 watt HID. That would be the best bang for your buck.sorry my mistake i meant 2 250 watt cfls like these ones http://www.greenshorticulture.co.uk/CFL-Lights-95/CFL-Grow-Lights-122/Budget-250W-CFL-System-800.asp
also how long would it take to grow that tall
He just said he doesnt have ventilation for HID. OP I say go for it, but for better nugs Id recommend not growing to 5 ft with just the 2 CFL's. Light penetration is much less than a HID.If you can't grow a 5 foot plant with those cfl's they probaly don't make them. I was looking into those 125w CFL for veg, and the cheapest I found with the fixure and wing hood was around $70 plus shipping. For the same price you can get a HTG supply 400w HPS package with a MH conversion bulb. Plus, with the CFL, I think you would have to swap out the high temp CFL for a low temp CFL come time to flower.Hey guys just a quick question.
Would it be possible to grow a plant 5ft tall using 2 125watt cfl's ???
Oh sorry didn't see this post. I dunno about you but I don't have any stores around here that sell high watt CFL like that, so I was looking online and the cheapest I found was at http://www.growlightsupply.com/i used to have a 600 watt hps but im growing in my wardrobe at uni so dont have the space for it or ventilation. what would you guys recommend i was going to go with the 2 250w cfl and 2 plants the idea was to grow them as tall as i could using LST aswell
Seems like you would have to have ventilation cfl's create heat also and plants like fresh air. I'am new to growing indoors but my little 160 watt cfl veg cab would easily reach 100 degrees in about 2 hours without a fan. With a ambient air temp around 70He just said he doesnt have ventilation for HID. OP I say go for it, but for better nugs Id recommend not growing to 5 ft with just the 2 CFL's. Careful man if you don't have ventilation and you are growing at school it may be a bad idea. You dont want to throw away your future for a plant.i used to have a 600 watt hps but im growing in my wardrobe at uni so dont have the space for it or ventilation. what would you guys recommend i was going to go with the 2 250w cfl and 2 plants the idea was to grow them as tall as i could using LST aswell
Oh shit you're at school? I missed that. Ripped has a point man. I growed once at school, but it was in an apt and my roommate was cool with it. If you are in a dorm you might want to reconsider.Careful man if you don't have ventilation and you are growing at school it may be a bad idea. You dont want to throw away your future for a plant.
