Hey RIU! Ive been mia from here for a while, trying to find my nitch. Sorry for cutting my few grows short, but my last grow was aero/nft and the power went off for approx. 3 days and that claimed the life of 120 plants and a perpetual harvest. I decided to use the most simple system besides going back to soil and thats the 5gal bucket DWC. I have always used the DWC with my mom's and when I would flower them I get at least 1/4lb to a half pound off one plant.

So here we go!

System/supplies:
Forty-eight 5gal buckets($4each), forty-eight 5.5inch round net pots($1each), 100ft of 1/4inch tubing($30), 24ft of 1/2inch tubing($5), two 1/2inch shut off valves($1), 1 bag each of 1/2inch elbows and Tee's($6), 48 - 1/2inch rubber grommets($0.25 each), 48 - airstones($1.50 each), 2 high powered 12 terminal air pumps($85 each), 1 bag 1/4inch tee's($2), 60 4x4" rockwool cubes($40) and 1 bag of expanded clay pellets($25).

Lighting:
Four 1000watt hps lamps

Nutes:
For veg. general hydroponics three part series.

For flower Advanced nutrients connissuer part A & B program

Plants/Strain:
57 violator kush plants, but only 48 of the best will be flowered.

I will let the plants veg. for approx one week inside the rockwool cubes or until roots start coming out the bottom. I will then transfer the cubes into the net pots and place inside hole in top of 5gal bucket and let veg for approx. 1-2 weeks.

Below are photos of day two inside rockwool cubes.

Not a big problem, electric bill stays around $250 which is not a major red flag. So every thing should be ok.

From what I've heard the electric companies could give two shits about how much energy you use. As long as you pay your bills they don't care.

This should be good, subscribed

Hey everyone here is a pic of the bucket, they all will be connected via the 1/2 inch tubing with the shut off valve at the end. I also included a pic of two moms of Silver Pearl that I have.

Good lord man. I am a big fan of the 5 gallon buckets already and this is only my first grow. This looks amazing though, I am definitely going to subscribe to this.

looks good got a ? how deep is your dwc it looks only a few inches, is it also areo or no.

Thanks! I have approx. 3 gallons of solution in each bucket. Thats all thats needed since the water has to be changed weekly, thats the reason for the 1/2 inch rubber grommet and 1/2 inch tees to connect each bucket together so I can drain them without taking the tops off and fill them back up the same route by putting a submersible pump in a res. and connecting it to the shut off valve.

good idea how do you regulate so the first buckets in the chain dont fill faster than the rest

What an awesome set up. I too do not understand how you pump the water back in evenly. subscribed

wow hows that work my one 600w cost me like $50 a month putting my total at $290. I am interested to see how the violator goes, I was going to order it but decided to go with reserva privadas OG #18 for my kush strain. Ill be keeping an eye to see how it goes. nice start good luck to ya.

When u pump the water in via the shut off valve the buckets fill just about evenly but it really doesn't matter because even if u just fill the first bucket from the top, the connection with the 1/2 inch tee's an tubing will allow the water flow to each bucket thus keeping the water level even.
