5k watt grow! Just wondering if anyone had an idea of lbs I would crop!

How much should I yield ?!

Ah good ol' AlB! Definitely a great addition to this community. My going hydro was heavily influenced by his methods. I never had the space to set up a grow completely like his, but I feel good about my adaptation.

LOL this guy's funny

If you "need a down payment for a house" quit wasting it on equipment you're still learning to use!!

Put my name in for the draw bongsmilie

Thats a good question. Just like I figured the OP seems to have dissapeared. Mostly likely because we were all right and he was humiliated.

Went in and gave these girls some support. Just went and got some rope and created a net for them. The grow wasn't always under 4k watts.. Just the last three weeks of flowering.. They stared under 2k watts in flowering for the first two weeks then I put in the other two. Only been running 4k for the last three weeks. View attachment 3338738
Looks awesome dude, how much did you end up getting?

i believe im agreeing with patrickkawi. Everyone is too focused on more light. weight doesnt really come from more light! It does but it doesnt when going for 1 gpw. weight comes from canopy size. 4000 watts in a 10x10 will yield more if you have nice full canopy. 4000 watts in 8x8 will yield less. why you ask cause you have more plant coverage in a 10x10 than 8x8.
what people need to do is use up as much of the light as possible. also vegging for 3 months dont mean anything all you get is to use less plants at the cost of more time. If i could i would use more plants and flip the lights for 12/12 to start flowering after like a week or 2. enough that it will be a sea of green. and load it into a 10x10 with 4000 watts. you can veg 4 plants if you like and top them alot and veg much longer to fill the canopy of the 10x10 and still yield the same. yield really has nothing to do with how many plants. i hear this so much i have this many plants and each plant is this weight! That doesnt mean anything. Also when you grow from seed and you said you saw the picture of how its gonna turn out. Thats bs too. it might turn out similar or very different. seeds are like the children of the parents! brad pitt and angelina jolie have kids and doesnt mean the daughter will look exactly like angelina, hell maybe her kids come out retarded then what. Clones are the way to go. cause if you clone angelina what will you get, You get angelina pretty much. also bigger number of plants means more uniform control on spacing between stems of buds. everyone needs to find their favorite number as cost of clones and type of watering system plant beds or 3 gallon buckets or 5 gallon buckets and hassle of number of plants vs veg time.
so to summerize this

4000watts over a 10x10 canopy fill like a jungle with 100 plants can yield lets say 6lbs is pretty decent average
4000watts over a 8x8 canopy fill like a jungle with 64 plants will yield 3.84 lbs with the same grower same everything.
of course this is just an example cause the effieciency cant be perfect maybe 4000w is perfect for 9.5x9.5 but for a 10x10 is a little under but for a 8x8 is way too much light. (this is just an example) so maybe the 8x8 will yield 4.5 lbs but it is still a lower gpw than the 10x10.

in other words if you have 10000 watts in a 8x8 and you can get temps controlled you will have the worst gpw ever cause adding more light like that is just stupid so people stop trying to keep adding more light than the space permits. its all about using as much space as possible per light. someone please shit on me if i am wrong as i have only done 2 grows. but believe i have a great understanding of how to get most yield where most people just dont get it.

And also i have a theory on fan leaves covering buds.
i dont believe the buds matter if they get covered much or not maybe a little. I believe the fan leaves are like solar panels that absorb the light to convert its stuff to energy for the buds to grow. If you cut off fan leaf to clear it for the bud you just lost a solar panel. sure the buds absorb light too but their leaves are tiny compared to that big solar panel you cut off.
This fan leaf theory is just that. something i am still thinking/pondering about. can be totally false or maybe right on the money. Anyway i hope this long post can help explain this to all the people who are scratching their head why more lights per sqft dont make more buds, at least not really.

I think he will get 6 to 8 OZs from each light, looks like 1 of my first grows 8 years ago.I was happy to have smoke until the next grow.It looks like you have two lights worth of canopy, slide them under two lights and save a bit of power.

patrickkawi37 --- i'm a man of my word so we will have to work something out. All the equipment from that grow I had actually sold. I was being ignorant when I jumped on here assuming more light = bigger yield... Found out real fast...
wow that is real nice. Not many people can come back and admit wrong. I hope you do even better next time

also if you grow by seed always keep a few clones from each seed so you know which one you want to keep growing next time. that way they will pretty much grow all the same and help with geting an even canopy. and also that way you can dial in the nutes for the specific strain. To me each seed is a different strain
