Off brand or not, you should be able to tell the difference between a CFL and an incandescent bulb bro ;)

And you didn't really ask much as far as a "question" about those bulbs...yup...they are lights...what are you trying to ask us? What are you trying to grow and how many plants in what kind of space? Kinda hard to give any opinion on anything without being asked the right questions m8 :)

yeah ok i didnt know what incandescent was i guess yes they are but the question i was wondering is if that seems like enough light to grow a good plant i dont like wasting money so i would like to do the best i can with what i have

im only growing one plant by the way
great...so what are the color values of the bulbs? You want more 6500K bulbs in veg than 2700K bulbs, and vise versa for flowering...so basically out of 8 bulbs you'd want 6 6500K, 2 2700K for veg, and 6 2700K and 2 6500K in flowering...and that should be plenty of bulbs, just keep em as close as you can without burning the plants...probably have to do daily adjustment...read through some of the stickies in the newbie section on what you need to grow with for medium and you should be ok...but feel free to ask questions, BUT ASK THEM FULLY, not shotty little questions like "my plant is brown...what do i do"...detail out wtf is going on completely or you'll get asshole responses due to your lack of question asking ability :D

thanks man great advice

what do you think is better ... T5 or CFL
I think T5's have their place, as well as CFL's depending on the growing environment...seedlings and veg don't use as much light as flowering...so T5's work great if you've got a bunch of them to cover as long as you have enough of them, but during flowering an equal amount of wattage CFL's spread around a plant would give it more light at the areas it needs to get fatter buds :)

in your opnion if you had 6 plants. how many watts would you want , if you were using CFL?

this is kind of my main issue at the moment.

my bulbs say
Wattage is 23 Watts, and it’s Incandescent Equal is 100 Watt’s

so do I have 2 23 watt CFL or do I have 2 100 watt CFL

I need to be slapped and then get my lighting right.
I have 2 T5 (which I started out with and I dont really like)
then I added 2 100watt CFL (a few days ago)

I was pulling an oz a week with 388w of CFL here - First CFL Grow - Help appreciated

I would recommend a 3:1 of 6500K:2700K for veg and the opposite for flower.

Keep them small! CFLs don't do nearly as well with large plants unless you keep a clean scrog or LST. I started flowering at this size -

Dropping bulb between plants maximizes plant absorption without the loss of restrike like you would have with a reflector. I tried to cover the canopy in smaller bulbs and submerge larger bulbs between plants.

I would yield ~ 1oz per plant. With 6 in full flower at a time and two others just rotating into the flower box I was able to harvest a plant per week.

This took place in a 2x3x3.5' area of a small closet.

Thats how poor CFL growers roll...just think if he had a little more space and double the CFL's and let them veg a little longer...he can easily control a "micro" grow, just imagine using those same techniques with more space and more lights ;)

You said twice the wattage and a longer veg?

This was ~800w. I did this once and abandoned it, personally I prefer a SOG with bulbs between plants than a scrog with just bulbs above.

To be honest, I have no idea. Those were some abandoned clones I picked up in the middle of a move. The whole project was thrown together in an afternoon and essentially abandoned till harvest, no good notes on it. I do know that it didn't yield nearly the as well as the smaller grow grams/watt.
