This is the strangest thing! All 4 blue dreams are 6 ft. and bushy and appear very healthy. But first direct contact with the sun in the mid morning "80 degrees" they all wilt from top to bottom. They look like they are starving for water. 2 hrs later around noon "95 degrees" they are perky. All the others g gift, a.k., kush are not wilting at all. All are in 1 1/2 yard raised beds. i really need help. I have no idea what this could be! first time i have seen this in 15 years of gardening!

Mine droop over night, they perk up at the first sign of dawn though. Mid-day they are stretching thier little leaves skyward then as dusk approaches they droop down again.

The roots will take up water from the soil and shed excess from the leaves, if the plant / soil is too moist this could cause them to droop excessively.

Just a thought...

If they perk up during daylight hours and droop at night I would say it's fairly normal unless they are showing other signs of stress.

Well all my plants do the same as yours. except the 4 blue dreams i can actually watch them wilt to near death at exactly 10:00 am everyday. then i can actually watch them perk back up to beautiful plants 2 hrs later around noon. thanks for the reply 1sttmeguy. i will post pics .

This started 3 weeks after transplanting in raised beds. about 1 month now and has gradually got worse. This happens regardless of what i do. i feed at 4pm and at 10 am next day....wilt...2 hrs later reaching for the sun. . i dont water for a day and 10am next day they wilt....2 hrs later reaching for the sun. same with nute schedule. I held water until they had to have it same results 10 am wilt 2 hrs later looking for the sun. here are pics of them now. i will post pics of the death wilt tomorrow at 10:15 am.DSCN1457.jpgDSCN1471.jpg

I wouldnt stress over it unless you start seeing leaves fall off or some sort of permanent irregularities/discoloration on them. Those plants are mega big and green so if there was something really bad happening I doubt they would be able to revert back to looking normal every day. Plants that large sweat out water at a rapid pace when the sun is on them..it could just be that in the morning it takes the plants a while to kick into heavy transpiration mode and pull all the water up from the roots and into the leaves. You could maybe thin out some of that inner and under growth to help them work more efficiently if you wanted

Thanks bustinscales.. but my heart just skips a beat or two every day looking at them in the death wilt mode and not positively sure if they will perk back up again. i sure hope it is as simple a problem as you say. i will post pics of the wilt tomorrow at 10 am. thanks again my friend.

that they bounce back is the important thing. plants wilt to keep from losing moisture. i think mid morning is probably pretty intense light and the wilting is just defensive. plants look great. you worry too much.
