6 Girls in Rubbermaid

Just want to say Hello to everyone on this forum, I've read for a while but this is my first time posting in CFL. This is my first indoor grow so any help is appreciated. I started about 15 seeds on April 15 and grew them to about 4" in dixie cups. I then transplanted into 6" containers a few weeks later but used shitty Hyponex soil for Walmart and stunted their growth. After i sexed them I ended up with 6 lovely ladies. Kinda small but still nice. My growing chamber is built out of a:
$4 walmart plastic tub
2 pc case fans
2 Car Windshield Reflectors
2 42 w Warm White CFLs
2 26 w Warm White CFLs
2 26 w Daytime CFLs
188 total watts
I transplanted the 4 best girls into 1.5 gallon containers about a month ago with a good potting soil mix and they are loving it.
With my limited space I'm trying to LST them as much as possible. On all transplants I've buried them as deep as possible.
I figure I have at least 6-8 more weeks to go. Sorry for the cell pics I will try and buy a better camera soon.

they look fine .. mostly Indica so they don get real tall but will bush out some more as you have 6-8 weeks more of flowering

awww so cute what kinda soil? i have 9 plants, 30 days old, 6 inches tall, good pre flowers, in mircle gorw time relase soil, growin under 3 23 watt 6500k and 2 15 watt 2700k. they been in flowerin for 2 days now. when can i expect flowers? also i dont check ph sence i dont have a tester. but there lookin ok

They are looking really nice. I like the setup, bet it didnt cost much at all. If u can lst as much as you can (I know ya mentioned you have limited space), you can really get some more tops and light down that stem. Maybe use some yarn + duct tape, that seems to work best i hear.

Buckshot- Yeah the indica shows in these, got lucky with the seeds I used to get plants to work in a tight space. me, not from eve

jestacrazy- I used a "Moisture-Pro Potting Mix" from a local Garden Center. It was pre-fertilized 0.18-0.06-0.12. Its made of peat, forest materials, compost, perlite, limestone, extended release ferts, and water holding polymer. I think it's similar to MG moisture control. I didn't get the plants sexed till about 14 days after 12-12 light. The first to show were the boys with little balls close to the stems. I don't test pH either but I use RO filtered water and light organic nutes.

Intuition- I'm real pleased with the setup so far. It cost me around $60-$70 mostly the fans and lights. Right now i'm using coat hanger wire to train them down but i've also heard good things about yarn and duct tape. I'll try it out next training.

A couple questions/ thoughts about the grow I've been having:
Once I start to really LST them will I be able to pull them out of the Rubbermaid? What kind of pruning should I be doing to prevent mold issues once they get crowded? Is there an easy way to water without pulling out the plants so I don't spill fert on the flowers? If anyone has any experience with this type of grow their help would be great.

Sorry it took so long for an update, lots of changes. To start I received my digital camera today so I can now share much better pics of the girls and the setup. I added a plexiglass heat shield over the CFL's to prevent the buds from touching the lights and burning because plant height is becoming an issue. Also to the top of the lid and lights I added a 60 mm case fan to cool the lights and plexiglass.







On Wednesday I realized one of the girls was really a hermi. The plant was mostly girl, but had a few pollen sacks hidden around the flowers. Here it is a couple weeks ago on bottom left

I mostly made iso-hash but am drying the main cola and some other nugs. It's pretty fluffy but smells good and has lots of trichs on it.

I've been continuing to feed the girls hydrolyzed fish fertilizer, seaweed extract, and just started with some molasses. I also decided to order the Fox Farm soil trio fertilizers. I think I will be able to feed them some Tiger Bloom and Big Bloom before I start to flush them. Cutting down the hermi freed up some space so I transplanted one of the little girls from a soup can into a gallon+ container. I'm not sure if this will help much this close to harvest but she was so root bound it won't hurt. She's the one with the yellow fan leaves on bottom right.













While I've had these plants in flower, I have 3 other plants vegging under a skylight. They were all planted at the same time, but I didn't have enough room in the flower chamber to fit them all. I figured by the time I harvest I will be ready to flower again. A plant that I kept in a 8 oz plastic cup since germing started to flower under the skylight while still receiving over 15 hours of light a day. This told me she wanted more attention so I put her in a bigger container. I was kind of abusing these plants but they kept growing so I'm happy where they are at. I've been pinching the stems of the larger ones to make them stronger in anticipation of 2 plant lst setup in the flower box next. Also practiced some topping on them. Like I said, they were abused.







Smell is starting to get unbearable so in my next update I will have some carbon filters added. Also plan on replacing the 23 watt warm whites with 42 watts. I think with the heat shield the temps should stay down, but I will check after I add the filters to see if it can still move enough air. Thats all from me. Any comments and advice are appreciated

heya. this is looking great! I also made a rubbermade grow box, but am just starting veg (about 2 weeks in) and I have had bundles of problems already. If you think height is an issue, it is really easy to pickup another rubbermade the same size, flip it upside down, and use it as a top shell for more height. It is what I have decided to do.

try using a long funnel to water them(like 99 cents at walmart)

you should tie those new girls down some more, they will get turn out great!
