This time, I'm not necessarilly measuring the length of time but rather the height of the plant. I was aiming for a foot tall on each plant. What do you think about that?

Looks great.
My UFO always gave me slow starts for the hazy strains too, also thats when I had thin roots...Any connection you think?

Hey Lizzard,
I've only used the UFO to veg, because its a great cost efficient light to veg out these plants. This is my 1st time using hps for flower, but I've used LED entirely for my past 2 grows. They almost always start off slow but then grow pretty fast. I'm aiming on a foot before I top and switch to flowering.

I wanted to try something different. I was thinking of a couple of grow experiments:
1.) Grow 2 hydroponically and 1 with regular fertilizer - and see the differences.
2.) Top 2 plants and let 1 just grow and compare the difference in yield.
3.) Do 1 hydroponically, 1 aeroponically, and 1 with fertilizer and see the differences.
Which would be the best?

Quick Update
Girls are looking fantastic. Its at that phase where the roots have developed, and are strengthening itself and also growing very vigorously. I've attached pics of the girls, as well as what the roots look like for those of you that are wondering what the thing roots look like. One thing that I did to promote root growth was to trim the roots, so to encourage more healthy root growth. That was one thing that I did on the big plant before I added my nutrient concoction. My nutrients are as follows (1x a week)
1.) BC Boost - Nitrogen, Potassium, Calcium, Iron
2.) BC Grow - Nitrogen, Phosphate, Potassium, Magnesium, Sulfur, Boron, Copper, Manganese, Molybdenum, Zinc
3.) Thrive Alive B-1 Red - Vitamin B1 for plants.
4.) MagiCal - Nitrogen, Calcium, Magnesium, Iron
5.) Sugar Daddy - Magnesium, Sulfur
6.) I also use Thrive Alive B-1 Green as a foliage spray.
The aforementioned nutrients that I use are just for veg stage right now. Then it's switched up a bit for flowering. For those of you that are wondering why all the nitrogen......it's a small amount in a majority of the nutes, except BC Grow and BC Boost.
I've also uploaded a pic of my 600w ballast. I can't wait to start using it! =)

I would go with two, if anything, i would keep them all hydro, and see if you like topping. Tho I like to wait till my plants have good inner growth going before i top them. And you only have one plant that would be big enough to top. I would say vegg them out longer, so the younger ones can fill out. Then decide what you would like to do. I used to do DWC, but now im in soil. Its not really that much different, besides that Hydro is a lil faster. Have you looked into making your own DWC unit?

Thanks for your input man. I've looked into DWC and as you know in my previous grows I made my own DWC, which seemed to work. The question I have for you is what is your opinion about grow rocks, and net pots? Ive never used them. I just use those peet moss pellets, and let the seeds grow out into them with the original aerogarden container pot. I wanted to switch that but dont know how to start from scratch with a seed. Whats my best alternative in getting a seed to sprout in anything besides a peet moss pellet.

All 3 plants have been topped. They are starting to be short bushy little fuckers. Looking quite nice. I've gone ahead and uploaded some more pics. Hope everyone enjoys it. It's cold here today. Just had a blizzard. Hope everyone is keeping warm. GOOOOOO PATRIOTS!

by no means am i an expert on hydroponics but i noticed the roots have a slight brown coloring to them. i have seen this in hydro set ups before and what i've seen done to the water was a small amount of hydrogen peroxide added to the reservoir and by small i mean when adding a gallon of water add a half cup of hydrogen peroxide it helps to keep the roots nice and white. you dont have to do this and not adding it will not change your end results

Thanks for that heads up man. I was wondering that. In every grow of mine, the roots have been that color. I figured it was because of the nutrients I was adding. Guess I was wrong. =( I'll monitor the roots, and add a small amount of H202. I will also monitor my ph, because right now it's on point. I really don't want to mess around with adding any bases or acid to change the ph.

Quick Update Everyone,
I've had it with the LED lights. It has nothing to do with the light, but with the amount of heat it generates. It's colorado, it's cold, and 75 degrees during the day isn't enough to get my babies going during the day. So I've gone ahead and switched from LED to HPS today. =)
The 600w HPS has been going since 6am this morning, and surprisingly I've noticed huge differences in my babies. They've gotten fuller, and are loving the heat. The temp is no more than 93 (95 was its highest today. 91 was the temp, majority of the time). Humidity is looking good. I've gone ahead and uploaded pics. Enjoy!
