I think you will be fine but it will get warm i need to pull in cold air in winter for cooling however i have 2 600s but when I had just the 1 fixture it was easy to cool off

edit : might be easier to pull heat away from that area instead I build a cheap exhaust fan with a 6in ducting 6in fan and lots of duct tape

edit 2 : also your renting so you probably can't start cutting holes into things, so just exhaust the hot air away into another corner of the room if that's the only place to dump it
i am on unemplyment and single so i pretty much spend all day with the plants i can manually exhast the air and keep it fresh thats what i have been doing plus a fan blowing right on the lamp

then full speed ahead the 600s are the most efficient lights for the cost you won't be disappointed, I would hang them higher at first as I attribute burning my jack herrer going from a low lux to a much higher lux. she foxtailed like crazy (took me a few days to figure out the right height) now everything's back to normal. even this ipower crushed my mars panel so that got chucked to a veg tent
hps forever

also if you don't pay electric and security with landlord is an issue there are lots of electrical devices that suck up power , possibly an A/c thats never plugged in or even a heater , I've had unlimited electric before and they never noticed the 600 but when I ran the 1200s I definitely got asked where the electric was going. I told him heat lamps for my iguana (I dont own reptiles)

would it be adviseable if possible to switch from a 400 watt hps to a 600 in say week 6 of flower or could that damage my plants? should i finish these with the 4 and use the 6 on my next grow?
I would change the bulb personally. I hope on the 400, you have it dimmed you 400. Otherwise you’ll mess up the coloring of the bulb. Also when you switch to 600w bulb, make sure you set the dimmer to 600w

My buds are 11 inches from my 600w right now. No issues so far! I have some yellowing, most likely a deficiency since it’s on leaves not close to the light. Buds directly under the light are getting FAT lol only day 42 of 12/12 in the pics
