Make sure it isn't giving off RF interference. Them cheap ballast do that, which is one of the reason I suggest quality equipment if your using digital ballast. Magnetic don't give RF I don't think.

It doesn't effect plants. It effects radio frequency like am, fm, cable internet etc... If it's close to cable lines and stuff it may static a little bit. I never got a cheap ballast because of this. I'm just saying what I read and heard from people. How the cable man knocked on the door because the neighbor was having cable problems i never wanted that so I stayed away from them and got a phantom ballast no issues at all, I can touch it with my hand it isn't even hot.

My first 600 was a virtual sun digital, fuckin things sitting in the garage collecting dust. Gave off a ton of RFI and the damn thing wouldnt keep a hps bulb running at 600, mh bulb at 600 no problem, hps would keep shutting down, tried a different bulb and same thing, dimmed it to 400 and no problem, service dept wouldnt return my calls or emails, posted a review on their site that they obviously didnt publish, fuckers. Had my internet cut off til I got a lumatek and I no longer had this strange interference coming from my house.
